They saw the light, they stoped complaining, now they are being the light. That is the way I see it.
I suppose, when you have a nation at war in the neighborhood, gun possession would go up.
There was a recent Hillsdale podcast where the guest credited Zelensky with arming Ukrainian citizens which helped thwart early Russian attacks.
He also commented Taiwan is not doing the same in anticipation of aggression from Beijing.
If I saw the Russians are coming, the Russians are coming, I’d be arming up as well!

In Poland it takes a lot of hoops to own a firearm however they began approving requests a lot faster when Ukraine was invaded. Poland sees the writing on the wall and arming citizens today can dissuade Russia from trying to take them tomorrow.
