Life was simpler 30 years ago. Of course my parents said that growing up in the 70’s and 80’s that the kids were gonna be a wreck… true, they just got the timeline wrong. Off by about 40 years.
I screwed up back then and boy, my parents let me know i screwed up. Tough love is a bitch, just doesn’t happen too much anymore. Instead its easier to drug them
We had the ‘switch’. It would subtract years off your life and set you back 2 grades in school.
Today? Pff! No Wifi signal and life is over.
Groups like “focus on the family” were a huge part of it!
Look, I don’t condone child abuse, and the parents who do that are sickening….
A switch on the hand, or a belt across the ass (followed by grounding to the bedroom without dinner) for being a little 
head hardly counts as child abuse!
However when groups like FOF got involved,… they got involved in EVERY FAMILY! And suddenly it became illegal to even give little Johnny a slap on the wrist for getting into the cookie jar before dinner…
Once the parents were stripped of their ability to punish the children beyond a stern talking to, the kids realized quickly that they had no consequences for anything they did.
Couple that with taking away mental health care and actual counseling in favor of mind altering medications we have created these people.
Big difference between abuse and discipline.
Yes, my dad hit me. He got my attention then he would talk to me. He knocked me out of my pissed off world (not literally but got my attention). No drugs needed, back of the hand was stronger

I only had to actually spank either of my boys a handful of times.
Yep, I followed up with that stern talking to that is now the maximum allowed punishment
Suffice to say, it didn’t take long before they learned that all important point of “don’t cross that line, or dad will be pissed!”
Even today with them 20 and 22 they don’t cross that line!
I feel I did a decent job, their mother feels I was heavy handed with them,….
But she’s renting her friends basement, I own my new home and the boys live with me in their own rooms!
When i was 14 or so I snowballed a cop. I ran and he followed my tracks to my house. My mom turned me in and the cop cuffed me and said he was arresting me on assault of a police officer.
Sitting in the back of the car my dad just looked at me with disappointment in his eyes. Cops drove down the road, turned around and brought me home.
No words were said after that about the issue. I got the point.
Nowadays lawyers would be involved, suing the cops, etc
He got arrested also? 
I was hoping. Nope, he was looking through the window at me.
Before my mom died 5 years ago and I would still give her shidt about having me arrested. She would just smile and say that it got my attention. Mom talked to the cops and they came up with the plan. Dad didnt know about it until she told him after the cops pulled away with me in the back seat.
Fear is a mighty powerful tool, it just not existan nowadays

Yes, but this isn’t mental health. They’re making these monsters. Then they’re encouraging them. Then they’re supporting them. It isn’t the same.

I was a Corrections Officer for 16 years and can honestly say I have known maybe 6 people who were truly, honestly, mentally ill.
Many others were learning disabled and or autistic and were lumped in.
A vast majority were faking it for one reason or another, the treatment was the same. Lock them up and give them drugs.
The treatment for any sycosis was 3 days in the psych ward and a cocktail of drugs.
The general public didn’t want to see or deal with them and most had no idea.
Could this be a component of our wannabe Rulers’ Cloward-Piven strategy? Overwhelm society by causing as much chaos as possible … followed by martial law and disarming the populace for our protection and/or to preserve the union.
After all, our recently retired Rulers implemented policies to allow (even aid & abet) thousands of unvetted and unknown persons to invade unimpeded. Letting the deranged wander around and to self-medicate without regular supervision is not that many more potential murderers, eh?
Very well could be the case. Some folks will cave but good luck on .gov disarming the general population. Won’t happen

My mom was a nuclear engineer, they had a huge 2” wide leather belt to hold up their detectors while working in the hot zones….
I still have that belt as part of my renaissance festival costume as a sword belt!
