My last ride in a Helo ended abruptly when the Air Crewman pointed at the open door motioning to get out!

We were 15-20 feet off the ground.

Later radio comms indicated metal filings in the tranny and that they would be land on the ship and return when it was fixed. Ship sailed for Roosevelt Roads and left us stranded for two weeks on Gonave Island off Haiti. They had dropped our gear on a palet so we had to guard it.

When they came back to get us and the gear we decided to walk to the beach and leave by small boat!

Not a meme, but bragging I feel belongs here.

My son was recently promoted and put on another stripe. :clap: He requested the current Deputy Commander of OSI, Col Stelma, to preside at the promotion ceremony. Col Stelma not only presided, but showed up in dress blues for the occasion :+1: I was not there, but understood the Col spoke very emotionally regarding my son’s commitment to duty.

After the ceremony, he presented a Deputy Commander of OSI challenge coin to my grandson :+1:
