This legislation, introduced during a lame-duck session, targets what it calls “deceptively colored firearms,” proposing severe restrictions on firearm appearance.

First link I found that was not MSN, New Michigan Gun Control Bill Wants Only State-Approved Colors on Firearms - Survival World

Michigan is ridiculous!

I am more concerned about safety issues with real firearms made to look like toys from several perspectives:

Kids thinking a real gun is a harmless toy.

Anyone mistaking a toy for a real threat.

Anyone not recognizing a real threat thinking it’s a toy,

Some Law Enforcement Agencies ban their personnel from arming themselves with firearms in any other colors than approved by their agency such as black, and other typical real gun colors, because of the confusion issues, and anyone not taking being held at gun point seriously because the weapon is not a typical real gun color.

I’m not joking, I scrolled up to the top of that article twice to see if it wasn’t some satire site like the Bee that I was reading!

I guess Smith and Wesson will have to discontinue their pink revolver grip option.

I guess the “gun” we use for self defense drills would be illegal.

Now it’s legal.

I’m guessing then that scarlet and silver of Ohio State wouldn’t get approved?

Just plain silly. “While the intent behind this provision might be to target weapons disguised as everyday objects
” How is a gun, by it’s color, “disguised” as an “everyday” object? I mean, it IS an everyday object, but how is it disguised by being pink, for example? It still looks like a gun. IfvI were to disquise a gun, I’d make it look like a remote, or something, and it would likely be black. :man_shrugging:

It’s not a gun, it’s a paper weight. :joy::joy::joy::joy:
