A mother was in her house preparing dinner for her family when her young son came up to her and said, “Mom, can I make dinner tonight? I think I’m old enough to do that now."
The mother said, "All right, dear. You may be very young, but everyone has to learn how to prepare food sometime. You can finish what I started here; I have to leave and run an errand anyway.”
The mother left, and when she came back she found out that her son had burned down the house.
The boy’s father said to the mother, “What on earth were you thinking? Our son is way too young to be preparing food by himself!”
The mother replied, "But who could have known that he would burn down the house while preparing a fruit salad?”
