I’m going to my interview with Mass State Police in a few weeks for my out of state carry permit. Does anyone have any idea what kind of questions they will ask!? Would prefer not to be surprised. Thanks and wish me luck. ---

No personal knowledge. Tried to query online, got barely anything useful. If it’s anything like in MA’s socialist cousins in CA, it would be the same questions from your application asked repeatedly to see if you’re consistent with your answers. ---

They won’t ask you anything too special. The clerk confirms your personal information as found on your application and will be taking fingerprints and a photo. It is simple enough. The main problem with MA is the long wait for out of state residents. ---

I just did it two weeks ago. They just confirm the info on your application and take prints. In and out in 10 mins. Had my LTC a week later. ---

My application was accepted in mid January and the date was set for September! I’ve hear it takes another 6 months to get the license!! ---

I definitely didn’t. 201 days since I mailed in my application, 26 days since my in person “interview” in Chelsea MA at the FRB headquarters. For people reading, they didn’t ask me many questions at all, they asked why I wanted the license, they asked if I have an restraining orders against me, if I hold any other LTC’s, and that was it, I was in and out in about 10 minutes, most of it was doing the electronic fingerprints and a picture. She told me I’d have the license in about 2 weeks, and made it sound like that was unusually long. 26 days and nothing yet. Also non-resident FYI, Vermonter ---

Well I finally got my license on March 29. 1 year and 2 months after the application, and over 6 months after my in person interview! I followed up so many times. They never answer emails or voicemail. When I got somebody they were nice but not very helpful. Final got a guy on the phone a fellow firearm owner and CCW partitioner. He said that all approvals were finally in. Marked app as complete and I got license in 10 days. I am now hoping that congress passes nationwide reciprocity so I will not have to do this again 🙂 ---
