My experience with flu shots has been pretty good. I get a shot every year, and only got the flu once.

No bueno, no flu shot, no beer vaccine. I followed the Kennedy assassination, we were lied to, I dont trust!! Years ago, in the 60’s i remember standing in line to get a sugar cube for some kind of polio vaccine, I wonder what was in that?
Last night, i had a very cold corona and lime to toast to my health, and my family health, and our safe day!!! One day at a time, one corona and lime toast every day!

My uncle got the polio vaccine when he was a kid back in the late 50’s and not long after he was diagnosed with polio lived his whole life with one leg three times smaller than his other
I find it funny its when it comes to abortion and women they say its her body its her decision to take a life but want to mandate what we have to put in ours

It seems that the Dems are now against the vaccine and are intent to point out anything that may be wrong with it. I hope so.

I have never had an issue with the flu shots. The VA gives them to us which is nice and easy. Covid? I just don’t know what to think right at the moment. I have heart disease, so I am kind of high risk. I honestly will have to think about it some more.

I don’t get flu shots and I think it’s good for kids to roll in the muck and eat a few worms. In fact when H1N1 was a thing ~10 years ago I figured I would never be younger or stronger and I did nothing to avoid it. I got it, it kicked my arse, and I missed more work due to medical than ever before, almost a week and a half.
Some time after I read an article in a medical journal about how people who had contracted it and defeated it naturally had developed antibodies that would have protected them from any of the major flu outbreaks throughout history (corona viruses, albeit not engineered hybrids?)
Anyway, this is where I knock on wood and say that I haven’t been sick since. I had an intresting realization the other day. The decade my mother was born the average person lived to be between 29 and 40 years of age. She turned 95 a couple months ago … and she has never had a flu shot.
I will say though that I’m not really ‘anti-vaccine’ either. Polio, malaria, Ebola, high risk populations, etc.

Mandatory Vaccinations on Virginia?
Because who cares about potential side effects 5-10 years down the line. If there are adverse effects on only 0.1% that’s only 8500 or so. If they can show me that it is effective and safe, I would be ok, but that needs several years of clinical trials.

It intresting, I had coffee with a friend and neighbor yesterday who is as far left as you can get when it come to elections and one step shy of anti-gun when you discuss numbers of firearms, magazine capacity, or semi-automatic firearms. (Which is kind of funny in it’s own right since he has no problem calling me when something needs to be shot, woodchuck, racoon, whatever).
He is also one of the most pro mask, it’s your duty to society, types that I have yet met. They are older and his wife has one lung.
So while we have gotten to where we avoid discussing politics and mostly stick to farm, firewood, and machine talk, I thought I might poke a little bit and I asked him if he was going to be at the front of the line when vaccines became available.
Holy cow!!! You would of thought I had told him the Senate and the Supreme court had canceled the election!!! It bordered on violent with a free flowing of ‘not safes’, ‘no ways’, and ‘how do you knows’.
The point I’m making is that ‘skip the established safety processes covid vaccines’ seem to be a topic that transcends all other views on current events…

It just seems wrong that according to stories, Fauci and Gates are the major share owners of the company developing the vaccine. Gates is about left wing as they come. The jury is still out on Fauci. I’m not an anti Vaxer, but I think I’ll wait until it’s been out there a while. The flu has had vaccines forever, but immuninized people still get the flu. What is the promise of the covid 19 vaccine? I’ll probably end up getting it, but I’ll wait at the end of the line.

I’m a retired nurse, I believe in immunization and know it to be safe. I get a flu shot every year, and hope that they can come up with a safe effective vaccine. But I hold to my medical training that it needs to be fully tested and safe. No rights to my freedom will be infringed upon, so says my Constitution. So until its safe, and they are not stepping on my constitutional rights in anyway, and it is medically proven as the right course of action for our future health…“No” I will not take it.

Oh yes it is VERY interesting AND stupid! I will NOT be participating. I didn’t take the flu shot for years then the military injected God knows what then another few years without a flu shot then I became immune compromised so started getting it again. TODAY I am DONE with vaccines. If I die I die. The lord will take me home one way or the other.

Melvin, I"m with you–health care background (RN for 35 years)–I support vaccinations in general, but–let’s make sure it’s safe.
OSU is starting a randomized, double blind, placebo controlled (this is the best way to study a drug) vaccine study right now in conjunction with AZ (pharma). It’s a two year trial…
A vaccine this year? Maybe. A safe one? That depends on your definition of safe. Too early for me.
I would want them to test it on a bunch of non essential people first (maybe Congress?).

As I do not mean to be disrespectful this may come off that way so i apologize in advance but to the nurses and doctors who state im a nurse or doctor and I am for vaccines. It means nothing I would bet 99% of you have no ideal what is in it or have you read the study’s of theses vaccines or seen any of the trial data you are told they are good and safe and you say ok im sure your not at home looking up what the mmr side affects are. Or how many kids have been hurt by Gardasil we all know Gates is the biggest backer of vaccines and big pharmaceutical companies look at numbers if it only kills this many and only hurts this many we can pay out this and still make a butt load of money
