That’s the deal with all these idiotic anti self defense proposals. Micro stamping, smart guns, etc. they can all be easily disabled by even the most incompetent criminals.

The assumption behind such things is that gun owners will eventually commit a crime with their guns and thus, need to be tracked and monitored. It’s about turning otherwise law-abiding individuals into criminals, just like the war on drugs created a criminal class.

There’s actually some lawsuits over the Apple ID tags being used maliciously. This probably won’t get much traction once the lawsuits reach fruition and Apple has to pay damages as the same could be possible here.
Though I don’t know how maryland would be able to implement an RFID infrastructure to make such an endeavor even useful.

So they realize it could aid foes and yet they want to use it on law abiding citizens and expect it to be “safe”?

This is going to help criminals out immensely once LE agencies and civilians are forced to adopt this tech. They won’t need to worry about where the good guys might be anymore. Their handy dandy RFID tracker app will let them know when there is anyone coming to stop them so they can set up a quick ambush before getting back to their criminal endeavors.
