How is shooting an armed intruder DRT in TEXAS of all places grounds for murder charges?
Seems like a lot of information is missing here.
Did the intruder say F’ this and turn tail before catching the bullets?
WTH?
Hopefully, it will make more sense after a proper investigation.
Did he shoot the intruder then drag his body inside? Something is missing from the report.
Maybe the man he shot was lured in and shot when he got inside. Too many ifs ands and buts here.
Something smells here.
Too early, or not enough information, for me to have an opinion. There are a number of reasons he may have been charged, a prohibited person, commission of a crime, etc, that may be involved. The charges may also be SOP while an investigation is going on that involves unanswered questions or other probable cause. The fact that charges were filed also does not necessarily mean that the DA will pursue them. We’ll have to see, but I agree with the others, there’s more to this story.

That is NOT AT ALL what a stand your ground (SYG) law says. A SYG law only says you are not required to retreat from a threat before using force to defend yourself if you are lawfully in that location.
This once more demonstrates the ignorance of national news organizations on self defense laws.
Maybe the editor and the author were not in sync.
It appears that the incident occurred in a resident in a Blue City/County part of RED STATE TEXAS where anti-gun officials/lawyers/judges are embedded. But then again, as usual, not enough detail to go by, and hopefully the homeowner will have good representation that will clear him of any wrongdoing. Maybe it would have been better that the female did the shooting “CASE CLOSED”.
Unless he had intentions of wrong doing.
I believe most likely that it was a drug deal that went bad.
That’s “hot”—women shooting guns I just love to watch the way they handle the weapon and how tight their grip is and how well they handle the blowback.
