Mayor Zoflake has apparently discovered the one flaw in the socialist master plan: you can redistribute income, property, opportunity, blame, and responsibility … but you still can’t redistribute thick skin.
Zohran Mamdani built his political brand on the permanent grin, the polished videos, the viral clips, the “nothing bothers me” routine. Very revolutionary. Very confident. Very online.
Then actual criticism showed up.
According to more than a dozen political insiders cited by the New York Post, Mamdani is “thin-skinned,” “hyper-sensitive,” obsessed with bad press, prone to grudges, and especially irritated when elected officials criticize him publicly. One City Council member said he “reads everything.” A Democratic operative said his phone is basically his “security blanket,” complete with the dopamine hit from likes.
So much for the fearless socialist tribune of the people. Apparently the revolution will be livestreamed … as long as nobody leaves a mean comment.

That’s the beauty of real life: there’s no mute button. No content moderator. No friendly algorithm. No staffer who can call the crowd and ask them to take the post down.

You can curate a feed.
You can even build an entire political identity around being effortlessly cool.
But when reality starts booing, even socialism can’t redistribute you a spine.
