Not to put too fine of a point on it, but that isn’t how math, or life work.
Companies owe you nothing beyond what you agreed to when you were hired. Medical professionals don’t owe anyone healthcare either. My question is always the same. If all of the doctors got fed up with whining patients and greedy insurance companies, they could go and do something else. Then who gets healthcare? No one. Same for bricklayers as it is for doctors. Pilots. City workers. Everyone.
It is all just business. If someone doesn’t make/have enough money, there are ENDLESS options for them to get more. People are lazy, in general, and do as little as possible. Just like water, they take the path of least resistance. (these are generalizations, and not directed at you, Jim.)
Healthcare is a total racket, just like education. Most of the money goes to administration, most of that to fat cats at the top and a million illiterate customer service people at the bottom. People fall for it, so it remains…but it doesn’t have to.
I’ve been lucky to have some great advice in my life. One of the best bits was to make/have enough money to not have to worry about money, and I’ve worked toward that. There’s enough hardship in life, you don’t want to spend your time worrying about $100. I’ve had some very sucky jobs…but who cares. They’re just part of a larger plan. I have many friends in their 30s, they expect student loans to be forgiven, two new cars, and a new house the day after they graduate. It took their parents YEARS to save for those things. Expectations and tolerance are WAY off of the norms.

Tax hike? Taxes are going down, not up. Services are going up and not down. I highly recommend that you take a business and an economy course. One can use the systems to your advantage, or one can CNN their way into poverty.

WAY too many people living BEYOND THEIR MEANS (What they earn) to pay it back.
You can include retail theft and fraud among these costs. These criminals live beyond what they earn, don’t pay it back, and the rest of society makes up the difference by paying higher costs.

. MOO!---- My ‘Advice’ I was given was MAKE DAMN SURE BOTH YER HEART AND YOUR HEAD AGREE WITH THE COMPANIES FINE PRINT BEFORE YOU SAY YEP! That has worked for me so well I can’t state how many times I SAW/FELT a problem then tackled it head on —then the result I either didn’t join or I did. Most people are now so eager (read desperate) and prolly my opinion again aren’t LISTENING to the HR that they just want a friggin’ job (and this is where we seem to be today , we have problems cropping up after the hiring).
As for ‘Medical’ BS (Their company Healthcare plan or your choice on your own) We shouldn’t FORCE any company to offer Healthcare if they don’t want to. This is AMERICA and if the company you are looking at can’t afford to offer it but are forced to makes their survivability put into question (or the flip side is a disgruntled employer already with a chip on their shoulder having to provider healthcare because the .gov say’s YOU BETTER!------that crap falls on the employee right away and a disconnect happens already between management and the worker bee’s. This is also the same same issue with Unions (I’m retired now (fully) so I can honestly say ‘What have the Unions done for you lately that has improved your life?’. If you can answer in a positive note good for you, If you think it;s another drain on your wallet then you have choices to make. I’ve shied away from Union/.gov work till it was too damn tasty to not jump in with both feet. And when the CACA hit the ventilator’s for me way back when they took care of EVERYTHING!. Catastrophic Health care was applied and I didn’t pay a dime! (Thank God)
I’m sorry @JimL but NO ONE should pay THAT much for Healthcare ! That is CRIMINAL. And once again my belief is the Company gets resentful and the employee has their backs to the wall now and they don’t deserve to be treated that way. My last TK (Total Knee) was $95,000+ , My Sister last months Bill for a TK was $123,000+ That is Outrageous–(4) ‘Doctor’s’ came and went to ‘see’ my Sister the morning after surgery (and she wasn’t awake for any of them, they didn’t wake her or write a ‘script NOTHING and the combined ‘Bill’ was over $8,000 ! FOR FRIGGIN’ WHAT?. Our Surgeon who we LOVE put Humpty Dumpty (me) back together again only made $3500 for the surgery, you would think his expertise would be better rewarded rather than $36 for an Oxycodone (REALLY?) yup, Our surgeon on Tuesdays and Thursdays does (7-8) Op’s a day then the rest of his time is paperwork, Check up’s fielding messages and dealing with the Hospitals BS. Yes, $3500 a cut is pretty good to me I agree but all these other hands in the cookie jars makes for a crazy Bill total in the end a whole bunch of Cogs in the machine make sure they get their share.
Trump say’s he will change all this so hopefully this is a moot point and ‘Universal Healthcare’ will replace Big Pharma but we shall see said the blind man what happens to all of this when the cordite clears huh?
Hopefully, the OVER TAXATION of John Q Public stops with the death of the Fed and the IRS (for starters). My wish is that a lot of ‘the plans’ coming actual get here! The removal of debt (we’ve paid for our sh!t 10x’s over already with the Credit cards insane interest rates, they’ve kept the Interest rates according to the Fed way too high for way too long on purpose so in Trumps own words 'the .gov OWE’s us some bucks).

I officially retire in two days. (currently on work disability)
Today’s weekly pay stub shows $27.80 total to cover myself and my wife, and that includes dental and eye, although they are both crappy plans. Granted, we’re on a high deductable plan.
Beginning next month, to cover both myself and my wife, it will be $788/mo. for medicare part b, a medicare supplement, dental & eye, so, yeah, JimL must live in one of those heavy blue states.

Congrats of yer RETIREMENT! Welcome to the world of Flip Flop’s and No alarm clocks! Argh! Hang in there Bruh we shall see if the $788 a month is absolutely necessary. I will state for the record I EARNED that BCBS-Dual Plan- Lovelace/Pres/UNM care plan now provider for me (being on disability myself) covers EVERYTHING!. There is now no more having to explain why I need a Humpty Dumpty Tune up on my legs or use the ER. I go in, show the card(s) and get treatment.
Healthcare shouldn’t bankrupt anybody.

OK, Honesty time ya caught me… No Flip Flops ever for me either. I’ve been wearing Bates boots for way too many years to stop. And my alarm clock has been unplugged for the last 5 years of work. I just get up in time with the Sun. All Old habits aren’t all sucky habits.

They should do away with social security and universal healthcare and cut the pensions and salaries of our representatives in half. The government shouldn’t take care of its people; you should take care of yourselves. Get a job; no one cares if you have cancer. You need a leg; go buy it with your own money and stop making me pay for your failures. Too many people and businesses are sucking on the titty of the government with my tax dollars, and I don’t want to pay one dime for you or them.

We, American Citizens have voted for and supported programs that support our brothers and sisters. We’ve paid into Social Security, we’ve paid int Medicare willingly for our entire lives, for the good of our American Citizen neighbors. We DID NOT Vote for nor do we support these programs going to those that swim the river and get here looking for free medical care, free groceries, free any/everything. We also Never Ever agreed with the Federal Government raiding these programs for god knows what.

PURE GRIFT—funds never even reaching past there front doors ‘To Help’ folk’s. Newsome is the perfect example of a Reptilian Grifter—His Homeless cures are laughable. BILLIONS spent and the problem GREW! Not even that POS Michael Bloomberg (New York Sh!tty) made it so obvious he was looking to buy his own Caribbean Island retirement VILLA. Arguing…sorry…discussing these Criminals with anybody who feels WE MAGA/Conservatives WHITE PEOPLE are the cause of any of these long running Grand Theft schemes makes me hope for a Kinetic Explosion (the big do-over) and hope there’s enough left to try again.
