Only 25 or so voted? I’m just not sure I’m buying that.

I haz a question---- Is the Lt a Demoncrat? The story tells of all the other folk’s mentioned w/ an (R) after their names but Ms. Henderson was ‘Party free’
Makes me go Hmmmmmmmmmm?
Some ststes/towns allow all residents to vote in certain local elections, including non-citizens. Not sure about Utah towns.
Just a reminder non-citizen does not equal illegal, I am willing to bet every single one of those who were registered were in the country legally. Utah does not issue drivers licenses to illegals, they do issue them to non-citizens who are in the country legally. Utah has a different driving permit for illegals which cannot be used to register to vote. And the story you linked provided two explanations on how those people fell through the cracks, online registration which did not verify citizenship to drivers license which was corrected. And the other was human error when entering peoples information at the DMV, individual did not mark that they wanted to register to vote but the person who entered their information into the system marked them to register to vote. Which honestly I am surprised more people were not accidentally entered into the system as eligible voters. Think about it, the person entering all that information into the system probably does thousands of US citizens and very few non citizens and it would just become habit to hit the box. Furthermore I did not read about single arrest in the story, which even if someone was accidentally registered and they voted would have taken place. They clearly have the ability to see if someone voted illegally based on their voter registration. So Utah obviously had a few dozen (whatever that number means) but none of them voted in any election or their would have been arrests made.
This is an interesting scenario for me because it truly embraces state rights when it comes to elections. We are dealing with people who are US Citizens who were born overseas to parents who resided in North Carolina. This is going to be such a tiny population by the way. We are talking about children of those serving in the military, consulates or those who work and live overseas but are US Citizens. So the question becomes how can a US citizen who was born overseas to parents who are from North Carolina participate in an election? These people are required to file and pay taxes but are not allowed to vote because North Carolina refuses to recognize them as citizens of their state.
Kind of a States Right thing. The law says this or that and one must comply. In this case we are talking about voting and the restrictions that keep someone from voting but in the big picture, we have laws and really should accept and comply. Don’t like the laws then vote for the folks that will take the seats and fix it.
WHAT? I just got back from MISSISSIPPI (I didn’t really I just love spelling it!) Roll with it ok? … And voted in Texas also on the way home! ARGH! This just gets more and more ridiculous with these people! I’d like to say ‘WHAT ELSE HAVE THESE PEOPLE DONE?’ But I don’t want to challenge them!.. ![]()
