Looking to move

I am looking to put roots down and buy me a house. I have been looking for a home and a job all in one. Does anyone know of a place that needs a really good cook and the houses available?

Northern AZ could probably use a good cook or several. Unfortunately the housing market here is crazy. Your chances of getting a home without cash in hand are next to zero.

Good luck on your hunt!

Greenville SC has tons of openings but not sure specifically for a cook. I would be surprised if there are not ones needed.

Housing market is red hot but if you are willing to drive 30 to 45 minutes you can still find deals. Of course deal is still subjective.

I’ve been looking to move upon retirement for a few years. Market in TN is crazy right now,so we ended up cancelling the sweet contract we had on our house here in CT after not finding anything reasonable there. Reassessing, and right now imo, northern FL is realistic with housing, Live Oak/Mayo FL area, and I am seeing W VA moving to the head of the wife’s and my search this fall…jobs, betting that FL area would be better.
Guy up the road, moved here (Litchfield County,CT) from NY, owns a restaurant in Hartford. Reading our areas real estate values are predicted to go up 26 percent in 12 months… that’s crazy, but that’s when I’m getting out of here and getting a farm in East Outer Bumchuck, W VA.:+1::grin:

Lake Tahoe, CA/NV, Reno, NV, or Vegas. Lots of restaurants, Atlantis, MGM, GSR, Peppermill, etc.

I actually miss living in Carson City!

It has gotten a little larger. I live 25 miles NE so I don’t have to deal with the tourist rubbernecking the mountain range.
They are still building homes in Dayton, Reno, Sparks, Stead, and Cold Springs. A lot of homes!

I drove through four years ago and I did not recognize too much. Even the Hornsby House Casino was closed. I later went to Vegas and since 1984, It’s not the same place!

just talking to my real estate network and Florida has been replaced by Georgia as the #1 retirement destination.

Tullahoma is in need of some good food, has very few good places to eat.

Market here is crazy but depending on where you are looking. Most cities near Nashville is getting crazy to live in, trying to get like Memphis.

We never made it to the Spencer area, and may be looking there this fall…May visit my son again in Harrison, though he may be out on a road trip of his own…still a place to do laundry, take a real shower and refill the water tank :+1:… Staying rural wherever we go. Price of food these days, we want to expand on the gardening.

@Todd30 @mattm >> got a buddy that lives in Landrum N.C. HE LIKES THE WEATHER, GAS PRICES ARE GOOD ( compared to here ) but the show stopper is - he gets a reduction in taxes cause no kids in school.
He doesn’t complain about crime, that’s all I know. As far as climate alone goes I would pick the higher elevations in Arizona.

Gas prices here are $4.35 a Gallon, Renting a one bedroom apartment is $1000.00 a month. Buying a house starts at $200,000.00. Summer weather is around 80 degrees this week! :sunglasses:
I am open to locations as long as there is fishing and hunting. No hurricanes or tornadoes!

@Todd30 Central to Northern WI, anything above Green Bay. Lots of Supper Clubs and Restaurants, you get to far Nort it gets seasonal.
Lots of Fishing and Hunting. Gas is $2.95 to $3.06 a gallon. All housing is high right now.
Easy firearms ownership, CCW you can use your DD214. Good luck. Mostly Conservative’s. :+1:
