Looking for an Effective Dry-Fire Training System — What Do You Recommend?

A friend of mine recommended the ARKSight Dry Fire Training Cartridge. He is been using it for quite a while and seems happy with it. I am thinking about giving it a try since it is a much more affordable option compared to some of the other systems. Has anyone here used it and if so, how was your experience?

That is an interesting way of looking at it. I can see the argument that the fundamentals should carry over if the dry-fire practice is being done correctly. Have you found that most issues people experience when transitioning to live fire come from anticipation and recoil response rather than flaws in their actual shooting mechanics?

@Andrew358 , you have been asking so many questions for 2 months and I do not see anything that brings you closer to final decision.

I personally won’t be able to tell you more than I already told…

Hi Andrew,

Your dilemma reminds me of designing simulated training with a MK19. I had 2 customers, the US Army and the US Marines. Our requirements were to provide both direct and indirect (long distance lob it in) fire. We struggled with the indirect fire simulation for a while. The Army said we will wait until both are sorted out. The Marines said give us the direct fire now and we will work with it until the indirect is ready.

I typed all that to say, IMHO, choosing something and working with it is better than choosing nothing at all.

I appreciate all the time you have taken to share your experience. Sorry if it seemed like I kept moving the goalposts with more questions. You hve given me a lot of useful information already and it is definitely helped me narrow down my options. Thanks again for sticking with the discussion.
I have decided to go with the Mantis system
