Locked TIGHT!

My eps carry is locked up on one gun and I’d love to move it to another. Any suggestions?

I’m assuming you used locktite? If so use a soldering iron to heat the screws. If the screws are stripped you will have to drill them out, for this I use left-handed drill bits.

I have never done it. I know heat loosens locktite . I was thinking a solder gun to heat the screws and then unscrew them. either that or take it to a gunsmith.

If locked with blue thread locker - use driver with big lever and use constant slow turn movement.

If locked with red - heat the screw up to about 500F to break the thread locker

Thanks guys! It is blue thread locker. I had considered heating it up but hesitated because the thought of extreme heat, even localized as much as possible to the screws, right next to all of that expensive electronics might effect it in some weird way. I also thought of a sturdy long handled driver but don’t have one. I guess that’s my play. If they strip I’ll have to drill them out. The two have been together for so long with so many rounds together. I’ve never had this problem before but had heard of it often. It’s almost like they’re holding on to each other:rofl::joy::rofl:. Resistance is futile! I’ll get it one way or another. Thanks again for the responses!

Use only one dot of BLUE locktite.

:joy::rofl::joy:! I know but I remember when I was installing it, my tiny bottle was a little low and I found myself having to squeeze. Next thing you know it’s spewing like a fire hose!:joy::rofl::joy: I remember saying to myself at the time, “Well, this is surely the greatest gun ever so, I’ll probably never take the thing off and won’t have to worry about it.” I’ll get it though.

Blue Loctite breaks easily with constant force applied, so you really need a steady leverage. If it sat for a long time acetone may help.

UPDATE!!! I got it off!!! So, originally I was using the little cheap driver that came with the eps carry. It just wasn’t enough leverage. I decided to go ahead and remove the Mecanik M04 from my Optimus Prime as to sort of manifest success on the eps carry. Well, Canik gives you that clever little gun driver and I thought dang, the little gun grip gives me so much more leverage. Turned out the screws were the same size. I used it on the eps carry. Some good downward pressure and the extra leverage was just what I needed. Popped right off. Thanks again everyone for the help. Love this community!!!
