Let's see your new gun!

A new addition to my stable

Zastava 7.62X39. I didn’t have an AK/RPK saw this one and thought “What the Hell…” and the best part of it, R welcomed her with open arms. It has Zero rounds through it, I’ll fix that this weekend…

A room isn’t always big enough. In our old house, we have an old coal room. Cinder block and its strong (for the time it was built) and not enough room. Its roughly 12x8 or so. Plan big

We decided this was gonna be my gun room. It worked…..until I put my ammo in it

I just replaced the guide rod/recoil spring, firing pin spring, sear spring and hammer spring on my kimber micro 9. Got them from M CARBO. Wow, what difference. I dont have a gauge but I bet it knocked a pound or 2 off, much smoother.

I’ve been away from here for a bit, so it’s catch up on new purchases. I present the Derya DY9 Island pistol in 9mm. The Island kit comes with everything you see here: the ammo box, soft bag, three magazines, back straps and the usual extras. Love this thing; It’s a great shooter. For those that’s don’t know, it’s essentially a Glock 19 clone (mix of Gen 3 and 4). Better grip angle with a removable mag well. Yes, you can put a Glock slide on it.

Nice :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Reminds me of the Zev Hyper Comp

Huh. I had to look it up as I wasn’t familiar with that one. It sure does look like it’s the same type of setup. However I feel pretty good seeing the retail price on that Zev being $1300 more than the Derya’s MSRP.

Give us an update after your range visit.

Sorry. I should have done that in my introduction. I have had it for a few weeks and have been to the range a few times now. The last time was to sight in a new optic on it. In summary it shot great. The Island barrel does its job in reducing muzzle flip as the gasses go up through the barrel ports. Ran just fine with various grains and brands of 9mm.

Sounds good, especially for the price point.

I bought a couple of the Gideons, great green dots for the price, mine still hold zero.

I came across Gideon by accident. I now have 3 :joy:… They are excellent, well built, solid window optics and definitely worth it for the price point. The Judge XL is essentially an SRO with an RMSC footprint. The one in the Picture is the Omega

I used the M Carbo hammer and firing pin springs in my P938 (Sig Micro 9 equivalent), but used a Galloway Precision 22 lb recoil spring

Major improvement in trigger pull and recoil reduction. My current trigger pull measures right at 5 lbs. I’ve tested many different brands of ammo with absolutely zero issues.

How’s that 22lb spring with various ammo? I think the mcarbo is around the 15lb mark. I’m sure that’s an eye opener trying to compress it.

OK, Just reread and you said various ammo ran fine. Reading isn’t my #1 trait sometimes

It’s a little challenging to compress it the 1st couple times. It really tames the recoil.

I carry Underwood +P ammo, but it still cycles normal FMJ target ammo just fine.

My name is Joel and I’m an addict….I just bought a RMX off of gunbroker. Need it like another hole in my head but what the hell..

Looked there for another AR lower and got a RMX. I gotta stay off that site

I tried my best to talk myself into a P365 TacPac today that includes three 12 round magazines. I just couldn’t get past my trigger finger hitting my support thumb. I know some would say I need to train past that, but I always say my equipment should work for me, not the other way around.

The other mistake I made was comparing it to these:

TP9 Elite SC
PDP F-Series
HK CC9
CZ P-10 S

Still no striker fire in my collection, but still thinking about it

What caliber?

I’ve gotten used to striker fired pistols. I prefer a external hammer but I can live with a striker also
