I think we’ve beat the Lost Gun Horse to death.
Let’s get back to congratulating the parents.
Their forethought may have prevented a tragedy. This should be a lesson to everyone in anti gun locales. Doesn’t matter where you or your kids are they may be exposed to firearms. Not knowing how to recognize / handle one is more dangerous than having one in the house.

It pairs nicely with that comment from maybe a year ago (and sorry I can’t recall the source): “During the pandemic, your rights are temporarily suspended.”

I was thinking the same thing, especially in context with the Rio Rancho, NM officer whose child died when he discharged a gun found in the car of a visitor to their home.

Oscar’s parents did very well.

Barney might not have lost his gun, but he had it taken away.

Yes I remember that episode :joy::joy::joy:

Did I miss something? I didn’t see where the gun came from. A criminal could dispose of a weapon like that, and a psychopath could leave one where kids could find it, for “crazy” reasons. Was it a stolen gun?
Sorry if I missed that the origin for the gun was a “legal” and idiotic source.

From the article: “The owner of the gun has come forward, according to Lt. Nick Thomas.”.

Makes it “Look Like” an accident.

If I recall correctly, Barney Fife didn’t even put the bullet in the gun until it might be necessary.

As I recall, Barney should never have had a bullet…

Of course, you’re right. I don’t think his firearm handling skills were very safe.

I loose my gun once but I was lucky all my doors were locked & it only had a 10 round mag & didn’t know where I kept the ammo. Whew! found it before it committed any violence

He (what are your gun’s pronouns?) just wasnt an assault pistol.

I used to keep my pistol on the nightstand at night but I was afraid it would go out into the neighborhood and cause problems so I had to lock it up

I keep mine in the holster. It has yet to find a way out by itself. I suspect firearms are not capable of doing anything on their own. They must be Socialists. They need you to feed them, clean them, and put them down to rest.

I think most likely explanation, is Dad went to pick kids up, kids were having to much fun and Dad went up slide to get kid(s) and lost gun while not trying to lose his temper.
