I’ll never understand the noncompliance part. Yes sir, no sir, have a nice day!
I guess, if I have a perfect escape plan, noncompliance seems valid. If you’re not in the wrong what do you have to loose?
It seems to have become a sport! Can I get to my gun, before he gets to his? Sounds like fun, but I don’t like the prizes, so I don’t play!

Former LEO here. Too early to reach any judgement. Have been in many many similar incidents. Question why he disobeyed officers commands. Why not just do what the police tell you to do. Heard he had a felony warrant out for his arrest. Need more information. Were the officers told he was known to have weapons?

In a way, it doesn’t matter if the police were right or wrong. I suspect most people already have their minds made up on this issue.

I hate 2020.

And look how the George Floyd incident has turned out.

Floyd, who was a violent criminal, armed robbery in his past… was resisting arrest and fighting with the officers.

That does not excuse the knee on his back for 8 minutes, but that had little to do with his death, as he had Fentanyl in his system and that retards or slows down your breathing, making it difficult.

The early video, you could hear people saying, ‘You can not win, get in the car’… which made it sound like he had been resisting, but we did not get to see any of that video, until recently.

It is always best to wait for more information… and not jump to erroneous conclusions.

Seems to be the way of the world…preconceived notions, speculation, conjecture, and knee-jerk reactions rule the day.

I’ve been inundated by people asking my thoughts on the Kenosha/Jacob Blake shooting. Here’s my take:

  1. Don’t forget the media has an agenda and it tends to not involve waiting for full information before rocketing their version in front of as many uninformed people as possible.

  2. Police were called because Jacob Blake was waving a knife around and in conjunction with a domestic situation (not because he was roaming the countryside as a non-violent friendly fellow). While en route, dispatch informed police that Blake had an outstanding warrant in regard to his recent sexual assault and domestic abuse charges.

  3. Police deployed a taser and it failed, as they are prone to do more than we’d like, despite being a great tool.

  4. My research thus far, very early, is showing that Blake said he had a gun in the car and was going to go get it. He continued to brandish the knife while disregarding officer commands to drop it, which would have ended the situation PEACEFULLY, if he’d have complied with such lawful orders.

  5. When he reached into the car, officers fired. Why? Because he already has one weapon and says he’s getting a gun next from the location he’s reaching into.

I’ll continue to weather the public opinion storm and wait for all facts but these seem to be what has been established for me thus far.

So, based on further information, cops did exactly as they were supposed to do. Tazer failed, criminal failed to comply. Criminal had deadly weapon, claimed he was getting another.

Sooooo worth rioting over.

The police have their weapons drawn and Blake walks away and opens the car door. He ignored their verbal commands. How do you get into the driver’s seat? The right foot first while raising your right hand toward the steering wheel? Blake was clearly not getting into the car in an attempt to drive away or just sit down. Blake bent over to reach for something while keeping both feet on the ground, whether the officers saw what he was reaching for or not. Were they supposed to wait for him to quickly turn and fire? I don’t know, I’m not a LEO.

I’m sorry, but if you ignore a police officers order and wind up shot you’ve no one to blame but yourself-Whatever you’re doing at the time. Police officers deal with the worst of humanity daily and place their lives on the line ever time they go to work. If anyone thinks they could do better I’d encourage them to become a police officer and see how it feels for themselves. I support the blue, period, To this old country boy the ONLY lives that matter more than anyone else would be Green lives (military), Blue lives (Cops), and Red lives (Firefighters). These folks are the ONLY people in this world who routinely but their lives on the line for the rest of us. Respect them and treat them accordingly. If a cop does in fact do something wrong the system will certainly hold them accountable.

I was waiting for that dumb a$$ with the rifle to point it at the armored vehicle, he would have been shot through the gun port. :boom: Watch for the flash.

You obviously saw an edited clip of the whole video. He and another white guy wearing body armor and also carrying an AR did open fire on the Bearcat. They fired quite a few rounds after the tear gas deployments started, over the course of probably the next minute. The cops did not return fire and fled in the Bearcat.

I saw the whole clip, I was talking about when he was standing off to the side, not after the smoke obscured the shooter and there was no clear target.

I saw this same article last night. That does make it look much better. Hoping the officers can be proven to be in the right and not have their lives ruined. I worry that public opinion will crucify them anyhow regardless.

I would not equate radicals on CNN or rioters in the streets with public opinion.
