Iwb issue question

If this has been asked please point me to the thread, I normally carry xd.2 9mm in a paddle holster, I love it but does not work in summer. I just got a kydex for it iwb, I’m only 5’7"and currently 173lbs. I just lost 15lbs but still notice an issue with middle fat getting in the way or pinched I normally carry 3 or 4 rh. Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance,

Scott

Getting pinched when you reholster or just while carrying? Although it might be a combination of factors, have you tried bending away from the holster to increase clearance when reholstering. I also do this to make sure the gun is not pointing at my leg when reholstering. Be careful, as if this is a reholstering issue, a shirt getting caught could cause an accidental discharge. I usually keep my gun in the holster when placing it on my belt or taking it off my belt.

Does it pinch while holstered just from daily activities? What holster are you using? Is the sweatguard pinching you? Does it have a sweat guard?

Pocket holster or sticky holster.

Try a wedge.

What worked for me… the times when I got a “doughnut” :grimacing: … higher underwear, which isolated the fatty meat from the holster.

During colder days - compression tank sleeveless shirt.

Hard to give specific advice. Most of us have a ton of holsters from trial and error. Could try a thin tank top undershirt. You could also play around with cant and ride height to see if you can find a position that works. I recall getting pretty bad rubbing from 3 ocklock but I was using a leather backed holster (cross breed reckoning… I hate that holster though others love it I guess). Leather was what was chafing me then. I carried M&P 2.0 for a while and that texture tore me up.

I’d start with the undershirt if you don’t already do that. The rest is finding the position and set up that works for you. Although the holster market is kind of over saturated, there are definitely different designs that work better depending on your body, gun, and the position you want to carry.

There is nothing like BABY POWDER to make you feel like a Man when carrying…

I carry outside the belt line, cross draw. My Hawaiian shirts cover the firearm great in summer and hoodies in the winter, I carry a full size frame, M17 Sig. and depending where I am and the event I may carry 2 extra mags.
