It won't happen to me: Defusing the Situation

In a lot of the what would you do situations, people have said they might step in to try to defuse the situation. Rick Sapp takes another approach to stepping in to try to defuse the situation.

A lot of innocent bystanders have gotten hurt when someone stepped in to try to stop the fight. As an instructor, concealed carrier, and mom, I would walk away more times than not (walk away, call the police and be a good witness).

When would you walk away? When could you not walk away?

Those are some horrible stories.

I remember growing up, we would get into a fight and be back friends the next day!

Wow! Has time changed!!!

I remember that as well. I was taught to stand up for myself. If I was on the losing end, at least that person knew they weren’t going to push me around. Now, it’s all about getting even.

When I was in school if both sides agreed to the fight we let them. Knowing you were going to have to square off at the bus stop to make a point helped put things in perspective.
