Issues finding pistol training in PA

I went pistol shopping with my aunt. We both purchased and are ready for some training. My aunt is a first time gun owner, I am not. I am looking to get some beginner pistol training near Quakertown area. There are plenty of ranges all around here, most don’t have pistol classes on their calendar and if they do they are sold out with the next one to register for being September or October. Then we looked into some private lessons. Most are available during the work day with weekends being booked out for several months and evening not available. I’ve been reaching out to instructors listed on USCCA and NRA apps. If I’m lucky to get a response at all, it’s that what I’m looking for isn’t available. So then I was thinking that I have a ton of experience using both rifles and hand guns since I’ve been shooting from 7yo until adult. It’s been several years, but I haven’t forgotten everything I’ve been taught and experienced. So I said well I will just join a gun club or a range somewhere local and I’ll teach my aunt and get her acclimated. Every single gun club or range requires a sponsor. I do not know anyone that is a member at any of my local clubs. I feel like we are hitting a brick wall with training or being able to get any practice in. If anyone is from the Quakertown area and has any ideas on how to make this happen, I would be greatly appreciative of guidance.

I suggest finding classes organized by Instructors out of NRA and USCCA.

Here’s is the one close to your location. Highly recommended, I’ve been attending this class few times already. Good for beginners and advanced shooters.

I haven’t looked at anything that’s over an hour from me. At this point we have to do what we have to do though. So I’ll look into this one. Lebanon is an hour and a half away from my house and about 2 hours from my aunt. Thanks for your input. I was hoping to find something a little closer to home and was hoping with how large of a presence the USCCA has, it wouldn’t be challenging.

I think some on line training might be good while waiting for a course to open up.

Unfortunately that is the reality. Even there are thousands of Instructors it’s sometimes impossible to find one available where we live.

I know, 90 minutes might be challenging… but usually it pays off. These multi day classes are great. Intense 2 or 3 days training is better than one or two hrs session.

LGS usually have some kind of community bulletin board or they have business cards of local trainers.

I’ve already done something like150 hours of online stuff. Most of it was curiosity about what USCCA is all about and what they are teaching. Some of it was just plain old boredom. I think their stuff is really good, thorough, and really pushing the responsible gun owner philosophy as well as safety. It’s definitely something that is much needed for so many reasons. Once you get that done and you’re just trying to get on the range with a qualified instructor to refresh yourself, and you keep hitting roadblocks , that’s where it gets a little frustrating. However after I posted this I received a call back from an instructor about a half hour from me who is going to schedule a private lesson with both of us.

That’s why we are here.
We seek for help and advises and usually get what we are looking for.
