Hi, I’ve got an old handgun a friend wants to buy. We both live in states that border one another with permit less carry and it’d be legal and easy for me to transport it to him myself. I know it’s not legal for me to sell it to him in a parking lot or his house (liberals smdh) I know we have to go through an FFL local to him, I’m just wondering if it’s legal and fine and perhaps even dandy if I just bring it there myself instead of shipping it, since I’m planning a trip to that state anyway?

It’s expensive lol but that’s not why I’m considering doing it this way instead of shipping it, I’m planning a trip there anyway cuz it’s my home state and I’m homesick and I want to visit all my friends there. I usually bring my guns when I go cuz we like to go shooting while I’m there, and last time he expressed interest in buying it when I said I was thinking about selling it.

Suggest you reach out to a couple of FFL’s where you will be doing the transfer of ownership.

I just go to the local authority that covers his home (aka the city or sheriff), and it is quick paperwork to transfer it to his name. You can call in your area to see what they want. This way it is free. I have done this with kids and friends a bunch of times. This is for in-state transfers; I noticed you’re going to another state, and this doesn’t apply.

@luxy Welcome to the community! Take your nice trip, meet your friend at his local FFL and go through the legal process and all is good (surely, he can legally possess a firearm).
