If vehicle was broken into and firearm was stolen how would the uscca handled that problem?

A friend of mine got her car broken into back windshield busted and firearm loaded how would the uscca work if that was to happen to anyone of us?

I appreciate all the comments. It was a night out with the girls and you can not go in the club armed. But i agree 100%. I wouldn’t leave my firearm in my vehicle if i was to go out with the boys i would definitely get a safe installed.

Maybe, just maybe, we could start by NOT leaving firearms in our cars.
Problem solved.

Good comments.
I agree that you shouldn’t leave a firearm in your vehicle.
USCCA doesn’t insure your gun, just you in a legit self defense.
Buy a lockbox that will slip under your seat with a cable that would go around the base of your seat. Sometimes you might have to lock it in your car (courthouse, post office, schools, traveling through illinois :grimacing:)
I bought 2 that are keyed the same, one for each vehicle.
My belief is if the firearm isn’t on you it should be locked up safely. all my guns are locked up except the one that I’m carrying. Although our area is relatively safe I wouldn’t want to be responsible for a thief getting ahold of one of mine, and using it for their special brand of evil. Or a visiting grandchild getting their hands on one.
Carry it or lock it up.

That’s like saying “come and steal my gun”
Jmho…Geno

Report to police then call USCCA with incident description, police report #, and firearm info (make/model/serial)

There is an aspect to the policy members have access to for liability arising from a stolen safeguarded firearm

I thought there was a separate add-on policy which covers the physical firearm itself…

There isn’t anything with USCCA for the value/replacement of a stolen firearm.

There is potential to have a weapon replaced if it’s confiscated as a result of a covered act of self defense.

There are no add-ons or riders or anything whatever for the insurance portion of membership though, all members have access to the same everything as far as the insurance portion of membership is concerned

I thought USCCA solt gun insurance for such incidents such as stolen guns ?

Aside from potentially covering the loss of a firearm that has been taken by law enforcement after a legal act of self defense, I am unaware of any coverage in the policy for lost or stolen firearms.

Best advice is to not leave a firearm in a vehicle unless you run into situations where laws or other circumstances force you to do so. And if people have to they should make sure the firearm is in a locked case secured to the vehicle in some way to at least prevent smash and grabbers from getting an easy score.

One of the big things about the firearms property they offer is that you don’t have to schedule property until individual value exceeds $5,000 meaning you dont’ have to give make/model/serial or anything for individual firearms/suppressors/etc that are valued under $5k…vs most homeowners policies max out at $2,500 total for firearms (or jewelry) unless you get an endorsement or separate policy or something

I took a quick peek at website, and I’m surely going to consider it, in addition, going to look into my homeowners insurance to gather further info and go from there. :+1:

Welcome Vicente5 . Prevention first, of course. The policy is available online:

“Covered legal liability” means the legal liability of an “insured” arising out of a non-“insured’s” use of:

  1. A stolen “safeguarded firearm”; or
  2. A firearm owned by an “insured” that is stolen from a “secured location”; or
  3. A firearm owned by an “insured” that is stolen from a “secured auto”; or
  4. A firearm owned by an “insured” that is taken from the “personal possession” of the “insured” in the course of a robbery; or
  5. A stolen weapon that is not a firearm;
provided the theft of the firearm or other weapon is promptly reported to the proper authorities upon discovery
and the “insured” was not complicit in or involved in promoting, soliciting, or otherwise encouraging the theft."
