HR 1620 Violence against Women and Children Bill

The party currently in control of Congress is attempting to pass more anti gun bills using other bills to make anyone who voted against it look terrible.

Under the guise of HR 1620 it will broadly expand prohibited people by

" pursuant to the *Pet and Women Safety Act, ANYONE can be prosecuted for a Misdemeanor Crime of Stalking, for causing “fear of the death of or serious bodily injury to […] a pet, a service animal, an emotional support animal, or a horse.”

Make a comment about your neighbor’s annoying dog? Prepare to lose your Second Amendment rights.

Additionally, H.R. 1620 provides federal funding and assistance for increased gun confiscation."

None of these things do anything for women’s and children’s safety. Arguably they will do the opposite and endanger women and children, as it will take away some women’s only tools to defend themself.

I would like all of you to meet meet this dog.

I rescued him from a woman’s domestic shelter. The woman, her son and their dog escaped from an abusive husband. This was her second attempt. The first one she returned because she had left the dog behind and her husband called her and made her listen to him breaking the dogs legs one at a time.

The next time, she took the dog with her. The Domestic Abuse shelter would not let her keep her dog at the shelter, so she called the Humane Society, who called me, because I was known for accepting long term fosters. I trained this dog to pass K-9 trials so that maybe the dog could protect them.

This is what the money they are hiding under gun control should be spent on is making it so woman who escape domestic abuse can keep their pets with them. I know it gutted her to give the dog away.

By the time the woman had finished in court. I had owned the dog for 5 years. She wanted a fresh start and gave the dog to me.

Last month, this sweet pupper had his last day. He had to be euthanized at 15 years old he had Cancer. It presented and raced through him so quickly. It gutted my family, especially my daughter when she had to make that horrid decision you sometimes have to make. We originally thought it was just rheumatoid arthritis. It wasn’t.

When we first got him, he had come from such a horrible situation and the woman who gave him to us was so strong, to get her and her son, away from the abuse and violence of her now ex-husband. I trained him as a K-9 so that he could protect that woman and her son. When she made the decision for the better of the dog and gave Jax to us, Jax became my daughters constant companion and friend. When she moved out, Jax for college Jac went with her and became her protector as well.

In spite of all that Jax went through before he came to us, Jax was such a sweet and good natured pupper. He was such a a good boy and he faithfully protected what was most important to me, my family.

He is greatly mourned and we miss him terribly. Watching my daughter as she made the hardest decision for his own good. It gutted me watching her mourn this wonderful dog.

If there is a heaven, I pray he is there waiting for us.
