How will you celebrate Veteran's Day?

Just curious.

The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
I have a dusty poppy left over from last year—I hardly ever see them around here anymore—so I kept it.

We’re both down with the crude so we won’t be going to the big parade downtown.

Brother,

I don’t celebrate, I mourn.
alone.
I go to Angel Fire (New Mexico) Vietnam Veterans Memorial

But it isn’t just for them, It’s for all Vet’s.
Angels are there 24/7

I celebrated my Veterans Day in the bed with a migraine. I eoke up feeling great, but soon after it rolled in with a vengance. I took one of the “Magic” pills my Doc prescribed and laid in bed.

We did get out later in the day for dinner at a location we know gives Vets a discount. I wasn’t looking for a free meal. Too many other folks out thwre who need those, but I will take a few percent discount when offered.

I celebrated Veterans Day with my wife. We slept in, went to breakfast (and got a free coffee and donut). Got some work done ( we work from home since I retired the second time :grinning:), then went to dinner at a vet friendly restaurant that we go to often. Also called our (mostly) adult kids to see how they are doing. Overall a great day. Veterans Day is about celebrating those who served, so no shame in getting some free food and spending time with family.

I had a weird experience on Veterans Day. As we sat around talking about The Army it occurred to me. Most of the people in the room had never been in any branch of the military, they talked like it out of the norm to be a Vet. To me, in my family all of the men and many of the women did at least one tour in some branch of the service, pretty normal in my life but I guess it’s not that normal in the vast majority of Americans.

This Memorial in Angel Fire is very nice. Myself, my wife, her son and his wife take a drive out there once in a while in remembrance of family members, friends that have served and died for our Country, and our Freedom.
