I use a 12"X`18" bar mat covered with little nubs that trap and hold springs and screws and prevent them from bouncing off to infinity and beyond.

Joseph488. Thanks Brother I’m goin to the Doctor tomorrow and get some X-rays. I have them wrapped very tight . I pray that’s all it is my abdomen has not healed yet No matter it’s alll good I’m Doin so much Better I’m Just Doin my Best it’s Truly Funny when ya hurt your self and pray ya Just Broke a couple Ribs and not the Pluming That just got Fixed!! I have two extra magazines that were given to me some years ago that I’ve never used, nor will I ever. So, I’m going to give them to you just like it says in our Instruction Book. “If you have two, give to the one who has none.” Plus, to go along with this thread, I figured that these magazines haven’t been stripped and deep cleaned since they were made some 50 years ago, or more. And I was right. After looking it up, finding little on it and some fiddling around, I learned how to take them apart. So, they are all cleaned, oiled, inside and out, and ready to mail.
Sorry to hear all that you’re going through. I’ll pray for your healing and hope that everyone who reads this will do the same. I agree with you. I feel that you got more to go. Since your plate is so full, I’ll figure out how to get this done.

I’ve never seen this before and I don’t think my Bride would be thrilled with this idea. 
I usually take three firearms to my local range at a time and enjoy sitting down back at home cleaning them while listening to WarRoom or One America News Network.
I have some loved toys that I still haven’t gotten to play with because they are not allowed at the beautiful indoor range. I practice in my private space with snap caps loading, unloading and manipulating, and staying informed on stripping and second nature handling and YouTube video how to’s. I know it’s not anything like live firing them.
Hopefully, some day soon.

I tried that once with no soap. There was still enough soap in the system to corrode the trigger spring.

I field strip my 4pistols after I shoot ovef 100 rounds trough them and I use my big tss as ble with a towel laid down in front of me. I turn on my videos from You Tube on each weapon as I clean them. I take my time and my Colt 1911 45, which is difficult for me to tear down.

Really? I find the hardest part of stripping a 1911 is dropping the magazine and not putting a fresh one back in!
Seriously though, the barrel nut on my MKIV is finicky, but other than that one, all my 1911s basically fall apart once the recoil spring is out!
It’s my Glocks that I sometimes struggle with!
Gotta pinch that stupid bar and shove it down evenly while slightly rocking the slide back….. rasafrasenratbastardstubbornlittleshi….

Going to agree with Joseph488, keep your revolver clean and you won’t have to worry about field stripping. I get that everyone loves their semi-auto pistols today but if you want something that will work every time a revolver is the way to go. I get that you are limited to 5-6 shots and reloads are not as fast but like my dad always said, if I need more than 6 bullets I am in bigger trouble than 10 would ever solve.
I’ll agree I have a 1 generation Glock 40 thst is a pain to get the slide off, I struggle with it all the time
