I’d like to think we all would get involved if we knew we’d come out unscathed physically, legally, emotionally, and financially. However, I had an instructor a couple of years ago, at a CCL renewal class, state that he’d absolutely defend family and friends but probably not himself. He’d rather die than face the courts and emotional strain. I think he was ex-law enforcement also.
