I have been going weekly since they opened it up April 6.
Thank you. I did make it to the range a few days ago and it was pretty quiet there. Only 2 others there when I arrived. They left shortly and had the place to myself.
Just got back from the range
Haven’t been to a range formal in a couple of months. Been shooting out back in the yard. Most recently about an hour ago after putting some new visible/IR CT grips on a 226 DA/SA SRT just for for S&G.
Thursday to sight in a new red dot.
Went today, sold a pistol to a friend, he wanted to try it at the range, I got 10rds in from my newest pistol, another TP9SFX. Tomorrow I’m going to get the new ruger carbine.
Since mid March when the private and public ranges were closed by the shelter in place order.
There is an exception for CCW renewals and I’m scheduling my required shoot for next month, for my CCW renewal.
It’s been since last year, and I’m low on 9 mm FMJ.
GREAT NEWS!!! FINALLY our trap club range opened up and this morning we are taking the youth out and doing some shooting!!! BAD News…our private range is open, BUT my weeds are growing like weeds. LOL
It’s been about 2 months. The cool
Thing is I’ve used money I would have spent at the range to get some more mags, and a new holster.
I plan on going to my local range in the next few weeks with a mask on, and some Clorox wipes.
Going to the range i use was one of the few things i COULD do during all this. It’s an informal range and quite easy to stay isolated. So i got in a lot of practice, and got some load development completed to great affect . It’s turned out to be a major benefit to my shooting but only because I load much of my own ammunition, still, if i didn’t also cast bullets I would have been seriously hurting for components. It’s been like the ammo shortage all over again here you can hardly find anything ammunition related, often, even on line!
it’s been 2 months some I have been busy and for a while my company said if I travel out of town I would be put on 14 day Quarantine for not staying home when not at work.
then when it was OK for me to go I was going to go the next weekend was getting every ready when find out i lost my keys to my Ammo locker so went up town to buy Ammo could not find any ,so did not go tell next week got new key made that week going again in June, my gun range is out of town 30 miles away if it was in town I would go ever week my wife would to call me to come home lol.
I went shooting today May 16 but only shot 45 rounds. My goal is to shoot 50 rounds once a week and I have managed that for the past three weeks.
All the indoor ranges in my area are closed but right before COVID 19 started I joined a shooting club in the country.
For the past three years I have averaged once a month and normally a 100 rounds per visit.
I am getting low on ammo though and need to buy more 9mm
My Shooting Club was closed for three weeks due to a governors order
It’s been over two months. The range is open this Saturday though… and I got work to do.
I got a Sig 229 I bought “police surplus” to test, A Ruger GP 100 6" stainless, and a M&P 15 I just bought to try out.
You’ll like that Ruger.
yes, I think he will like the Ruger too. I was surprised how accurate i could be with the GP100, even with magnums. You need to be a lot smaller than a little pepsi bottle at 25 yards to be safe from one of those! Not only is it a last forever tank, but it’s an accurate tank.!
This afternoon.
Oh yeah!!! It’s my second one. I bought one brand new back in 1998…but then I only paid $376.00. Times got tough for me back around 2010 and I had to unload some of my guns for $$$. A Law 12 shotgun, a Russian Tula SKS, a Marlin 336CS, a SigPro 2340, a S&W 4046, and that Ruger. I almost cried.
Thing is, the Ruger I just bought was barely used and it was almost $600.
I went last Saturday and I’m going again this Saturday with my usual shooting partner. While the wife and kids are sleeping… I make coffee, he picks me up at 6am and we are home by 8am.
Made it to the range this morning, but not on a platform I can carry.
