Hochul signs New York bill requiring social media history to obtain gun carry

It’s a background check and a questionnaire that you fill out. When it says “list all social media accounts, I’d put N/A. That’s that. The NSA doesn’t have time to check every New Yorker that wants ccp. Especially when the line is out the door and down the block to get one. Even when the nsa look you up the return states LIKELY accounts associated with said individuals. And by that they can with ALMOST certainty know that that’s your account but it’s not provable. Good tools for them to gain leads and follow up on but very little legal leverage. Certainly not enough to deny someone their right to defend themselves.

This is just more communist ideologues trying to usurp the Supreme Court of the United States. These communists don’t and never did care for this country, it’s laws or institutions. God Bless America. Let’s hold on to our Republic! :cowboy_hat_face:

That would be a refreshing response!

Exactly the point I was trying to make. Look at what is required for people who apply for a permit to carry to (maybe) acquire one to protect themselves and their families, even when their records are so clean that they might qualify for sainthood, only to be denied by some faceless bureaucrat because of some arbitrary requirement put forth by “leaders” surrounded by security details (with guns). Compare this to the criminal who gets a gun without bothering to deal with “laws and requirements”. Result: good people who respect the law and are denied the tools needed to defend themselves become victims of the criminals. Wouldn’t it be nice if our “leaders” would devote their time and (our) money to disarming criminals instead of us?
