What was the high point of the day or ; what made your day
Farmers Market, bought the last round of Berries. Be in the kitchen bottling Jam all day tomorrow.
Highlight, nope! I was at the store picking up a gallon of milk and as I pulled it out it slipped from my hand and exploded on the floor. A girl said, you don’t need to cry over spilled milk!
So, I grabbed another one and headed home. I opened the back hatch of my Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the gallon of milk popped out and exploded on the ground.
So, then the next day I return to the store and pick up a half gallon of milk and as I was walking to the register I got a text from my wife, no, she did not try to remind me to get milk, she told me not to drop it this time.
The wildlife in my backyard makes my day every day. ( Including )
- fox
- Raccoons
- Possums
- Woodchuck
- Skunk
- Squirrels
- All kinds of birds ( including hawks ).
- Pet spider ( That doesn’t play nice ).
There is not one day that goes by without Seeing something I never saw before.
Looks like that bird is a different species, interesting!
Well, today just started, but yesterdays high point was going to my 30 dollar a year gun club here in West by God Virginia (as opposed to the free park the other direction) and just as I popped off a few rounds, the police showed up …
and we had a great time. Senior cop had a Savage in .300 win mag and a custom .264 in a MacMillan stock, action saved and restored from a cat litter box, and the rookie and I talked about suppressors and night vision. I think they noted the “third option” on my sons AR that I inherited, but the conversation turned to “it’s the person, not the weapon” that the blue states seem to forget.
Hey @Blacky , glad to see you post. I’ll tell Barry54 you’re still around. He was inquiring about you awhile back.
I was up at Dolly Sods Mon-Wed in the motorhome, hiking and enjoying the views. 25 mile drive, first 15 miles takes 20 minutes, the next 10 miles takes 75…but it’s so worth it.
I thought this was going to be a discussion about Hi-Point firearms;)
My high point is finally getting back home after a long work trip:)
( not today, but )
Got my Smith & Wesson model number 625 back for warranty work a
while ago. ( 45 acp )
When I first got the 625 I bought some 45 ACP auto rim brass for reloading ;
No moon clip required with the auto rim brass.
Taking care of my donkeys in the morning.
Carrying my XD-9 at my favorite Italian restaurant during my lunch break since I can’t carry at work.
Taking care of my donkeys in the evening after work.
Taking my wife to our local and only village pub for dinner and hang out with friends, drinking beer and watching baseball (not carrying, obviously).
Yesterday’s high point was picking up the new firearm. I mean, for a friend, of course.
Today is TBD. I woke up about 8 hours ago and have yet to shake this inexplicable feeling that something is off kilter. I have no idea what that is, but it’s uncomfortable.
went to our annual fall festivatival parade this morning and seeing a friends 90 yr old mother as the grandmarshal with her two great grandsons.
Halloween High Point.
My next-door neighbor’s house.

When I first saw these in his back yard I almost called the S.O.

My house.
We usually have 60 to 70 kids for Halloween, lots of fun.
My highlight of the day was seeing two sunbows at the same time. If you ask what is a sunbow, think of a rainbow without the storm. They are formed by ice crystals high in the atmosphere creating a rainbow without the rain first. I went to take a pic but by the time I got home they were fading quickly.
Edit: doing more research what I saw were sun dogs. Created the same way but only to the left and right. Usually occurring at sunrise or sunset.
My wife is a bit under the weather. Favorite part of my day was seeing her relax on the couch all day while I cooked and did the dishes do she could relax. She rarely relaxes. I don’t think she knows how!
Congrats!!!
Don’t spoil her.
I like to cook, but ; I don’t like doing dishes.
P.S. WOMEN ARE THE STRONGER SEX ; I.E.
could you bear a child?
Back in the day, the man brought home money, and the woman took care of the household. Now A days ; it be like ; WHO’S ON FIRST WHO’S ON SECOND?.
PSS. The good old days are gone forever, but the memories linger on.
@mattm , I live here in the beautiful state with the best firearm laws in the country in West By God! I was wondering if the free range you was talking about was the one at Beech Fork out that dirt road? I’m in Huntington 12 miles away from that if so, I live a few blocks from the park down here because of elderly family members ( 88 yr old Mother I have to look after) but anyways I’ve heard and was invited to join that gun club but it was years ago but now that I live in town I pretty much don’t shoot anymore, I think I have six or seven “ ones” I’ve bought in the last few yrs at least a half dozen I’ve yet to put a round thru and would love to belong to a club where my son and I can shoot now and again.
