Rum, Cognac, and Bourbon.
And a box of cigars that I get every year for Chesty Puller!
Charles514, thank you for your service and sacrifice!
Happy brithday Marine Corp may the Marine’s be around for ever
OOORAH! #SemperFi
I don’t remember who set my memory different, but it was either W.E.B Griffin’s The Corps series or Jonathan P. Brazzee’s Federation Marine series where he celebrated the Corps’ birthday traditions.
I never considered my service a sacrifice. I got to travel to places I would have never been able to travel without my Marine service: Okinawa, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong. Beaufort, SC, Frogmore, SC, Tent Camp 2, San Onofre, CA. I would have never met my better half for the last 66 years were it not for the Marine Corp. That in and of itself was worth the time I spent. I was introduced to a career that I had never heard of before my Marine service and spent 25 years in that rewarding endeavor. I actually matured a bit — not much, but a bit.
