Gutless mass shooters..

Any of you guys ever wonder if one of these gutless turds shows an inkling of courage and attacks a military post, police station or other hard target? That would probably change the designation to terrorist?I believe that designation is better than mass shooter anyways.

“Terrorist” is full… between the Jan 6 iNSurRectIOnIstS and NRA members, terrorist is full.
Ah heck, Joe will make room for more, lumping us all in the same boat.

True in a couple of incidents…mostly schools, malls, concerts or churches are the cowards I’m referring to.Takes a load of guts to fire on unarmed civilians?Nope just an idiot who wants his five minutes. If you are going to wind up dead after you attack somewhere…shoot up somewhere where they will return fire… suggestion…go to Ukraine. They will fix em right up.

Now, to be fair, with only a very few exceptions (like SOCOM Headquarters in Florida) the irrationally stupid defense department polices mean that military installations like Hood and WNY are effectively gun-free zones, with only gate guards and patrolling law enforcement carrying arms.
And the aftermath analysis of Sully Station is that it was a (successful) suicide-by-cop attempt.

Was also an inside job (no pun intended) by an officer.

Agreed.

Quite few high school mass shooter events were also inside jobs, by students.
Your point?

The difference is the implication that military bases are not GFZs, which you noted are actually GFZs and of the two incidences, one was due to an officer at that base. As to schools, many of the students were not students of those schools or at that time. Not stating that none were. As example, the Parkland “student” was not a current member of that student body, and was not allowed to be in the school. Like “gun control”, it only stops those that are law-abiding.

if i remember correctly the officer at FT Hood and was a muslim, and when i was station there in the 60’s the MP performed the policing and now they have civilian doing the inside patrolling inside the gates

Yes, he was a Muslim, and also a physician who apparently had been radicalized by his readings while stationed at Walter Reed Army Hospital in D.C., his duty station prior to being assigned ot Fort Hood
The fact he was an officer is meaningless; neither officers nor enlisted were (are) armed on Army posts other than law enforcement and security.
The general public does not think about it, but yes, virtually every military installatiion in the US is a gun free zone, so declared at every gate.

There are several categories of mass shooters. Gangbangers and enemy combatants put aside, since we know the motive, and also some are very brazen.
The type that society struggles to understand, are the psychotics that lash out senselessly. They seek soft targets, true. They also look at how much people love their children, and how love is taught in houses of worship, and they cant stand it and lash out against it. It is not merely softness of the target that drives the psychos.

There are numerous accountings of military bases, outposts and police stations that have been attacked. A couple problems are involved with public notices about such events. 1) when an attack happens and people are injured while on duty and in uniform, the notion of security is questioned.
2) along with the initial security at question is the response time and ability. There are other issues but, i think these 2 are a good start for further discussion.

ALL ammo is kept on the ammo bunker, the weapons are in the barracks armory, and the troops can sign the weapons for cleaning, that was the way it was when I was at Ft Hood

You’re right.

I had no idea that was the case till the shooting happened. I was like “how the hell could something like that happen on an army base . . . it’s an army base!”

And then find out that for some asinine reason, military bases, like schools and churches and other areas, are considered “target rich environments” . . . .

It has happened yes, but when I was in the Marines 67-71 we were all armed!
