So i ordered an AR15 from ohio business and the fedex tracking said it arrived Friday at 2pm. I go to store next day 24 hrs later and they said they have not processed it yet the weekends are busy. There are about 6 guys working the place.? He tells me to come back Monday? Is this reasonable. I don’t need it but i was conveniently near by today. They only charge $38 to process thru tallahassee,fl when i sit there for an hr.
Not sure about the arrangements between FFLs. I once ordered an AR-556 from TN. Instructions from my FFL was wait for their call.
I wait until the store call me with a “Your gun is ready for pickup”
They have to record the delivery and you are not the only one to get a order in. Weekends are usually busy and counter customers take priority. So yes this is normal!
I’ve normally gotten the call within 24 hours,…. But yeah, their responsibilities as the FFL supersedes your convenience.
The shop I go to made that abundantly clear on my first transfer through them.
I get the desire though!!!
. PSA shipped my Barrett through UPS,…. It passed through the building I work at on its way to the FFL!!! ![]()
If it weren’t for those pesky laws about 4473 and FFL transfers, I could’ve taken it home from work 2 days earlier than I picked it up!!! (Talk about tempting!)
The package had my name on it, I could’ve walked right through security with it! Then call PSA and ask for a refund because it got lost in transit…. Got my $10k back too! ![]()
Except that I can’t tolerate thieves.
So i just waited for my phone call to fill out my paperwork. ![]()
Good thing too! Otherwise Barrett would never have warranted it when I broke it! ![]()

Personally, I jumped the gun one time as my Stribog came in the same day as my ATF approval notice for a suppressor for it. I was excited, went right away to my lgs, and caught some grief from the manager, explained the impeccable timing and how at my age, every minute counts
. They took care of me, so I bought a case of 9mm as well which got a smile from the manager. She’s cute when she smiles ![]()
…and that is why I bet we’d get along in real life.
