Shootin’ Shells were withdrawn from the market. The bullet is hard plastic. It snaps into a metal casing containing a spring then loaded to a number of toy rifles, pistols, and a derringer. A Greenie StiK M cap was stuck to the rear of the cartridge. When the hammer fell upon the toy bullet, the cap would sound out a bang and the plastic bullet was ejected out the barrel from the spring loaded casing. Hitting skin caused a sting, hitting an eye could cause serious damage.

as I recall there were youngsters that shot themselves in the mouth with em etc???
joking hazard etc…
