Grips on your guns

I am very picky when it comes to a grip on a gun.

I don’t care for a lot glocks or FN.

My p365 SAS

My Springfield XDM

Smith & Wesson M&P 2

Taurus g3c

At first I wasn’t too crazy with the aggressive texture on certain guns but I decided to give it a chance and I thoroughly enjoyed aggressive grip texture on my Taurus and on my Smith & Wesson.

So what type of grips do you enjoy on your guns and you change the grip Style?

All grips have been changed to protect the innocent. G10 Operator II, very aggressive grips. Changed all my handgun grips, immediately, for tactical purposes. After the first 100 rounds hands were bloody, now they fit perfectly within the indentations in my palms. Will not lose my weapon during a fight.

Absolutely VZ Grips, I’m addicted to them, have at least two to three colors per weapon! Waiting on some new colors!

Not a fan of Glock grips out the box. However, Hogue makes a nice after market option.

Got one of those on one of my Glock and makes it a bit fatter for better grips!

Hey @Marrio I installed Hogue grips on my Glock 43 FDE my M&P 9 Shield FDE. I like them also. A bit hard to install but once they are on they make the gun look nice and you get better grip.

@Johnnyq60 Like your experience, mine was a bit challenging to get on. Hot water made it a lot easier.

I like aggressive grip texture.
I have to change or adjust the grip at most of my handguns. The only exception was M&P9 M2 - this one came with perfect texture :+1:

Easy job on steel / alu handguns - just change grip panels. Polymers required more work, but good stippling can do the magic. :slightly_smiling_face:

I use talon grip wraps on my carry guns. I’ve heard horror stories of people using those rubber grip sleeves. My 1911 got a hogue wrap around and it is the most comfortable think in the world now.

Same here. I really like the aggressive M&P 2.0 texture.

When I owned a “using” collection of handguns, my pride-and-joy was an S&W 25-9 in .45 Colt - it came with the usual ugly target grips, so I ordered two Hogue Monogrips for it - hard nylon and neoprene. The softer grip proved to be the ticket for my small hands. A later Glock 35 was an authentic UPITA - their GEN IV (?) pistols now offer panels and backstraps to adjust your grip, as do some H&Ks, Glocks are still butt-ugly to me. Most revolvers now come with great grips - I especially like the soft horizontal ribs on the Taurus Tracker’s grips. Kurt17

I have tried Talon grips (on Springfield XDs) & Hogue grips on a Taurus G2C. So, safe to say I didn’t like those grips out-of-the-box. Most grips are decent though. It all depends on the individual & how often you shoot the firearm.

:point_right:t5: No disrespect intended toward Springfield or Taurus as companies. My XDs was 1st generation. The Taurus was a great value for $240 (at that time). :v:t5:

I installed Talon grips on my original and PC 9 shield because those grips are not to good. Once I put them on it was a big difference and the grip was better. BTW they are easy to install and only run about $20.00

Love the aggressive grip on my G2C. I’m a simple guy, not a fan of add-ons. Rather than change grips I train often with the “OEM” factory grips.

Some type of VZ are on all my carry guns. I might try stag for my next one, but not sure. I love the look of all the wood, mammoth tooth and other exotics made into 1911 grips, but I shoot best with the VZ’s…
