Glock Discontinued and New V model

My CZ75 Compact went full auto when I replaced a disconnector with a new one. It wasn’t on purpose… the new part was a little bit out of spec :joy:
Remember - always buy original parts from the manufacturer. :face_with_tongue:

Has it started yet?

Assuming these leaks are accurate, the changes look very marginal, which is a good thing.

I can just see Giffords argument ‘Glock must have designed a switch specifically for the V.’

He doesn’t say how easy it was to modify. If it takes a gunsmith, then that’s fine. If a dude with a 3rd grade education and a $5 Walmart toolbox can do it, that’s a problem.

Took less than 48 hours to get done. You don’t have to be a mechanic to modify your car. You don’t have to be a gunsmith to modify your gun.

That being said, Glock still may have done enough to negate the liability of the lawsuits (for the time being.) It seems the original glock was the most common gun to get a switch…. Buy it’s also one of the most common guns owned. There’s switches for all the other brands and models too.

I understand Glock. CYA, they addressed the issue. They avoid getting sued and continue selling guns.

The problem is when does the V become “too easy to install a switch” and more lawsuits come. Anti gunners can go for other guns which isn’t good for the consumer.

There is a sly side to this that I don’t like either. Glock conveniently ditches its old style patent which has been copied by rugar, PSA, shadow systems etc… they ditch that same patent and make a new firearm leaving those other companies exposed to the same lawsuits that came for Glock while releasing a new set up that could be kept out of the lawsuits. This is a bad move for gun rights and law abiding citizens. It’s good for Glock. This gun was probably planned pretty far out. I speculate some of this shocking release also bated people into panic buying Glocks. So they possibly bated people into panic buying while also making a move that hurt the competition along the way. … but maybe it’s not dirty, maybe it’s just the smart move, I don’t know.

I just think it’s wild a decade ago it was “assault weapons” and now gun grabbers are going for the most basic/ standard handgun… Slippery slopes keep slipping.

What makes it worse is that glock tried to make a safe gun that wasn’t convertible. Shows their intent to put out a safe legal product. Gun grabbers are to stupid to realize they already were safe, you just can’t stop a criminal.

What the grabbers did realize is that glock will cave to pressure. I got a feeling glocks days are numbered since they have shown a weak spine. I hope not but….

My understanding of the old school switch was literally just lock the slide back, remove the back plate, replace with the switch. Drop the slide!

Looking at the reviews of the V I’m not imagining it being that much harder.

Basically just use a dremel to make the changes needed.

The bottom line is, is that Everytown and all these other anti-gun activists’ groups are targeting/harassing the wrong people all together, and these groups are the ones that should be sued/dismantle their unconstitutional organizations. Glock and Ruger should counter sue these organizations.

In fact, better to have Preemptive Strikes!

Not sure what you mean. If you put no gun signs up, bad guys will have no choice but to turn around and put their weapons away before entering. We all know criminals follow the rules, they are criminals of course.

The V has already been modded. This is pointless.

What i was getting it in typical grabber fashion. They dont go after the root cause..ie: criminals and go after law abiding folks and companies.
