For as long as I can remember, AT&T has been sending people to my door to sell me their products and services. Back when you could reach a human on the phone, I called and asked them to stop. Now one can reach a human, but not one in our country, not who uses English well, and not who can transfer you to anyone who can help or who is in our country.

Every time they come, I explain that I will never want their services, that they are trespassing, and request that they not trespass again. I explain that I am armed. That my neightbors (green beret, ex sheriff, etc. are armed). Still, they just keep on coming. These are young kids and I feel for them but I do not want these people on my property. Our development has a no solicitations sign.

This time it was two guys pounding on the door. I went to the door armed (concealed, of course) as I thought someone was trying to break in. I again asked them to never come here again. They laugh and respond in a way that is supposed to make me feel bad about not wanting to listen to whatever their sales pitch is.

How do I get rid of these people before someone gets hurt. They come at all times of the day and in these times, I do not like to go to the door unarmed, especially when it is dark out. I especially do not like that they may come when I am not home. At least the holy rollers come only every few years when I ask them to leave.

What rights do I have in NC and what steps can I take to stop this? It makes me very nervous. Thanks!

No Soliciting signs don’t always have the backing of the law. Have you tried posting a no trespassing sign on your property? Then post a sign on the door stating that you’ll be calling the police and pressing charges against anyone who is on your property and isn’t supposed to be there.

BTW - be sure to specify what type of no soliciting laws when you do a google search. :woman_facepalming: Especially if you’re on a work computer.

Such a sign at the only entrance to the neighborhod isn’t enough, legally? Each house has to put one on each of their doors? This seems unreasonable, no?

Here’s another solution. Put together a white shirt with clip on tie and slack and a Book of Mormon and invite them in to study.

If someone ignores my sign (similar to yours) they will leave after listening to as much mindless chatter as I have time to send their way. If the mood strikes me there is a Bible near the front door and when I approach the door Bible open and start with “In the beginning…” most will make a hasty retreat.

This guy LOVES solicitors, ankles, calves, shins, fingers, and throats if you let go of the leash.

Go to your church and get some “pamphlets”. Hand them some, they won’t be back.

I eliminated the Jehovah’s Witness’s this way. :rofl:

I live in suprise Arizona and here the solicitors have to be licensed to go door to door but are limited to only houses that have no posted signs if they go the a house that have it posted no solicitor they could lose their license and pay a heavy find. All we have to do when they show up is call our police and give a description of said solicitor.

Not sure you can ever truly prevent it.

Personally, I open my door for nobody. I have a 35 pound dog who sounds like a 90 pound dog. I keep pepper spray at every door and my pistol with me. And cameras recording what is happening outside.
