Gazans Demand End to 18 Years of Hamas Rule

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/27/world/middleeast/gaza-hamas-protests.html

From the Story:

While most of the demonstrations have been small, they represent the boldest challenge to Hamas’s authority by Palestinians in Gaza since the Hamas-led attack on Israel of October 2023 and the ensuing war, which has reduced cities to rubble.

This is a good start, it should be noted that there has not been an election in Gaza since Hamas was voted in with just 44% of the Palestinian vote in 2006. Then they killed everyone in the opposition party and never held an election again. Things to think about when you vote in a Totalitarian Government who thinks voting and elections are nuisances to moving forward with a Parties agenda.

Upside is this is a clear indicator that Hamas is losing power, if a protest would have taken place before October 7th 2023 those who protested would have ended up dead and all their family members would have been killed as well.

And they are quite likely to wind up dead today as well.

Ham Ass will use them as human shields while they launch attacks against the IDF, then in turn jump up and down like chimps about Israel killing civilians that actually support them…..

The more I see from the worlds “religion of peace” the less I like it.

To your totalitarian government comment….

You mean like the current extreme left wing democrats.

Who tried to jail their opponent to prevent them from being eligible to run,…(hey, it worked in Russia, and Putin won by a landslide!)
Of course his opponent died in jail…. Odd thing that…

who continue to vote amongst themselves to strip rights away from their constituents, (Colorado SB 25-003, New Mexico SB 279 off the top of my head)

I mean any party who feels elections are not necessary and wants to end them. Democrats love elections, because it lets them use the excuse they can deny others their rights because a majority voted for it. Dealing with it here in Oregon where a majority of the population voted to require citizens to have an Oregon CHL to be able to purchase a firearm in the state. I say that is an offense to the US Constitution but Democrats love to show how a majority of the population voted for it and they just want to deliver to the people what they voted for, even though it tramples on other citizens rights.

Fixed.
Carry on.

More likely Hamas / Arab coalition has staged the protests to get international community to force Israel to stop killing them. These are people that have been brainwashed for generations to hate literally everyone. Israel needs to finish the job.

If you lived in Gaza you would hate everyone as well, I am a Jew and I understand the hate of the Palestinians who live there, they were forced into Gaza, it was not by choice. You can call it brainwashing but it’s literally telling your children we used to live there, but we were removed from the land we lived on and now we live here. It’s not that many generations from 1948.

Maybe they should have thought about this before October Seventh 2023. Sorry but no pity.

Choose to be ruled by HATE. ACCEPT YOUR FATE.

Which is why Israel needs to do the needful and kill every man, woman and child in Gaza.

Israelis can only kill people that are trying to murder them. It’s a mitzvah. If they purposely try to kill people that are not trying to murder them, it is murder.

Quote of the day, maybe the month. Let’s park that thought for a while and see how it ages in the U.S over the next year or so.

Wow. Can’t tell if your serious or not here. You’re in favor genocide? That would be a pretty ironic statement coming a Jew. Seems like we are heading down that path though: [from wikipedia, so numbers may be off, but the trend is clear] “As of 4 March 2025, over 50,000 people – 48,405 Palestinian and 1,706 Israeli – have been reported killed in the Gaza war according to the official figures of the Gaza Health Ministry. Scholars have estimated 80% of Palestinians killed are civilians.”

I remember in highschool, one of our teachers was Russian. He fled Russia (literally on foot) to come to America. He said many times that Russians are good people, it is the governement that is bad. That is a universal truth. You need to separate the acts of a government from its people, especially oppressive governments. Not all Palastinians are Hamas, and protesting how the Isreali government is killing so may civilians is not antisemetic. (That said, some of the protests cross the line and are antisemeitic).

Edit

Cool story but, you just got done telling us that you were an atheist?

“[quote=“Papa_Zed, post:1301, topic:95408, full:true”]
Also I am quite happy as an atheist, I grew up studying Torah, today I still study it along with the New Testament, and lots of other religions. My ex-wife is Shinto, my children are Christians, my girlfriend is Pagan. If I was required to choose a religion I would be a Norse Pagan, why have just one imaginary friend when you can have an entire pantheon of them. And if I received special privilege’s for being religious then hell yeah I would be picking the one that gave me the most privileges, probably tell the Government I worship Mammon and that I would not be paying my taxes anymore because Mammon said I don’t have to.

Now you’re a Jew, ???

Once you’re a Jew, you’re always a Jew, but you can pick any religion.

Maybe he is a believer.

It’s a quaint notion that the Jew can’t be taken out of the man.
herem, which is basically excommunication, resulting in total exclusion from the Jewish community.
Then,

excommunication was quite a serious threat and used by the rabbinate regularly to enforce discipline in Jewish communities worldwide.

He could’ve denounced his faith, which he would’ve needed to do to become an atheist.

We live in a very versatile society. :musical_notes: It takes every kind of people to make :musical_notes: Don’t get me triggered.

Even though I don’t practice the religion it does not change that I am still part of the tribe.
