The other night my boyfriend made me watch The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger because I had never seen it and I love Steven King’s books. I hadn’t read this one either - it was actually pretty good!
In the movie, the Gunslinger had revolvers made from Excaliber and they showed how fast he could reload them! It was impressive although definitely high speed/CGI for him to reload that quickly.
Later he gets a belt that has ammo set up for the revolver and he just has to spin the revolver around under the belt and it’s like the belt automatically loads the revolver. I wish they made that in real life!
What have you seen in a movie that you wish they made in real life?
Lasers! I really wish there was some sort of laser gun. Like Star Wars or Star Trek.
I guess realistically, maybe lighter ammo. I see in the movies the chain guns, machine guns etc that are carried and not even going down the road of “no way, that thing seems to have unlimited ammo” … that thing would way 75 lbs! And, he just swings it around like its a pool water gun.
bullets you could recall after you shoot them–not run out of ammo (Altered Carbon).
caseless cartridges (Aliens 2).
The wand that the blue guy in Guardians of the galaxy had–he could whistle and kill people. Now, I know some people who can almost kill people when they sing, but not whistle.
guided bullets (Runaway–really old movie with Tom Selleck and Gene Simmons)
biometric locks on guns (set up to work with one user only based on finger/hand prints–Bond movie, Judge Dredd).
The Iron Man suit with full armaments would be pretty cool.
So would Sandman Slim’s knife that he stole from a General of Hell. With it he could open any lock and it only killed what he told it to kill. He used it to cut off one guy’s head but the guy didn’t die. Useful.
Speeder bike from Star Wars, Serenity, the Replay gun from 5th Element, Specially Combat Body Sleeves from Altered Carbon, Nanites from Bloodshot, Cloaked Predator suit, weapons and Cloaked ship from Predator. Throw in the Bat man arsenal, aStar Destroyer with a manufacturing base to.support it all
That would solve a lot of problems, and definitely not aiming low- these days it seems like a lofty goal to me.
What I’d like is the Star Trek teleporter thing, so I could get Scotty to beam me up.
Just one “never empty movie magazine” for all my platforms. You know the ones that make the bad guys fly backwards 10’ and blow holes in tanks from a hand gun and 10 rounds no recoil from a 50 BMG.
