When you’re shopping online for a particular item - especially an expensive one - here’s a few tips to make your experience easier. First, go to the maker’s website for the item’s MSRP, as the primary target. Open extra tabs for the online dealers you want to shop, and review them. A recent find was OPTICS AGENT, an e-commerce outfit in MD with no BBB- affiliation, but a customer rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars from SHOPPER APPROVED. With each dealer, check stock status, and make up a “dummy” order to find if your ACTUAL cost is BELOW - AT - OVER that MSRP. FYI
To avoid bait and switch scams use the manufacturer’s web site to get the correct SKU and model/part number. Make sure if buying through a 3rd party the numbers match exactly.
Good idea for an additional cross-check.
