Florida Woman Kills Man Arrested for Murdering His Father

A Deerfield Beach, Florida, woman fatally shot a man previously arrested for murder on August 19, 2026 according to Broward County authorities.

A witness told Local 10 News, a Miami-based TV station, that Maurice Wright Jr., 31, found out where his ex-girlfriend lived and attacked her. Wright and the ex-girlfriend were arguing loudly enough for neighbors to hear before the confrontation became physical.

“What I heard is that the dude was abusing her, abusing the 4-year-old and tried to abuse the 11-year-old,” neighbor Marcelle Thomas told Local10.com.

“So she had to do what she had to to defend her and her daughter, and she did that,” Thomas added, noting that Wright and the woman had a difficult relationship in addition to the claims Wright had been abusive towards her and the children.

Thomas also told the local TV station that Wright had previously been jailed after being charged with second-degree murder in connection with the killing of his father using a rifle. The disposition of that case was not immediately known by Local10.com, which covered the 2022 arrest by Miami-Dade County sheriff’s deputies who were forced to execute an explosive tactical breach to enter the motel room Wright was holed up in.

After questioning the woman about the incident, police released her. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office will present the case to prosecutors once the investigation is concluded.

In an interview with the Daily Caller News Foundation, legendary self-defense expert Massad Ayoob explained “disparity of force,” which he defined as “an advantage on one side, that even though the person is ostensibly unarmed, if the assault continues, it’s reasonable to believe that death or crippling injury could ensue and that would warrant a deadly force response in self-defense.”

“The male is generally larger and stronger and is generally seen as having more cultural predispositioning to violence,” Ayoob told the DCNF while discussing a thwarted Maryland carjacking.

Well, Yes he did but that shouldn’t be a determining factor in this case should it? I mean sure he’s a Murdering bastard and killed his old man, ok, and he was a Domestic Abuser who thought nothing of ‘tuning up’ Innocent children and his Ex, and alright for argument sake we could hypothesize he WASN’T a pillar in the community. And lastly Barricading himself in a Hotel room doesn’t prove he’s guilty of anything Criminal… I have to stop sounding like a crazed Liberal White Woman…I just threw up in my mouth!. I might now run for office somewhere!—I hear the Governorship is going to be vacant in a few select Blue cities real soon :crossed_fingers: . ARGH! :rofl:

No, it should not, but it is one part of his character and behavior; that he is willing to kill, and the other part is his willlingness/desire to prey upon those he is physically strong than. People like him need to go where they are not a harm to civil society. Banishment, prison, death, whichever fits the crime to protect our women and child and civil society.

Many here have made the distinction between those types, the peaceable, ones that have the ability, but do not cause unnecessary harm, and the defenseless and others unable/unwilling to do harm in defense of self and others. This case further exemplifies these types.

Oh, not you, Don… Yes, quite obvious, but I was serious. Though I recall a coworker from many years ago made a comment about use of lethal force, saying that in Texas stating that he needed killing is legal justification. :rofl:

Hey leave Texas alone we aren’t that bad we do have to have a reason before shooting. they must give a reason to kill but the above mentioned person was on this earth way to long . Our reason for killing him would have been he is a bad person that needed killing. See the difference " bad person" :rofl:

My question is the part that was not reported very well by the media, as of 2022, its only been four years until now, so why was he not in prison or at least in jail for the murder of his father? This is the reason we have prisons - they are stopped from going after other family members.
