The temporary service who provided day workers was considered their employer and carried workers comp and all the other tax burdens that an employer carries. When I had my printing business I occasionally used a temporary labor service. I usually found that that they were more trouble than they were worth. They didn’t know the job, had to be trained to do the simplest tasks and worked slower than my regular employees. They were people that I would not hire if I were looking for more regular employees. I finally managed to get rid of all my employees and cut back on the work I accepted. My gross went way down but I found I was actually making more money for me than when I had 10 employees and was grossing nearly a million a year. But I had to gross a million a year in order to be able to afford 10 employees. All I was doing was providing jobs and with the personnel problems ten employees caused, it was not worth it to keep them on. I was happy when the last one left.

My understanding at renewal there’s still a background including medical background. At renewal, that’s one of the forms in NC. Lots of us personally know most of our LEOs also.

I fully understand how you feel. With respect let me propose a concept here that I think needs raising.
I know there are many Veterans, civil service and First Responders who suffer PTSD fom the rigors of their service. But I think there is a version of PTSD that many of us suffer regardless of our profession.
I am calling it PTSD-A for PTSD-America. Sufferers remember the America that was. We can barely recognise the Country that is. And we are tortured by the thoughts of the country we are headed to becoming.
We must commit to changing that direction and we must be smart in how we proceed. What made America Great once and will make America Great again? Respect! Respect for God, Country, Family, Community and neighbors, and the (honest) rule of Law.
I am NOT promoting violence or representing any radical political activism. I am simply encouraging a 2 prong form of treatment for PTSD-A. First, we must look at and clearly identify those in positions of authority who vigorously represent the Respect referenced above and support them in their service to our country Nationally and locally. Secondly, we simultanously, identify those who DO NOT represent said Respect and actively work within the sound and yet uncorrupted constitutional constraints to remove them from power AND hold them legally responsible for their treason and criminal activities.
There is a third prong of which to be mindful. Corrupt people do corrupt things; Power mongers use power to control; so we must be careful and wise in our efforts. Watch your six , stand firm with your buddy, and Respect America!

Accordingly, I can carry in my home, and anywhere else where there is a sign permitting concealed carry.

How does a business in Cali inform a person it’s ok to carry there put up a sign like this:

They call the police on them.
Well, it should make answering the questions on the test as to where you can carry pretty easy.

Hey Don I thought you would appreciate this as I felt the same feeling about 30 years ago when I moved from Philadelphia to the north country of New Hampshire in a little town called Twin Mountain population 500 at the time. Walked into the local police station not knowing the laws and introduced myself to the chief of police and said hello chief do I need to register my firearms wanting to be leagal and all and he said, you live in NH now son, Live Free or Die, we don’t register our firearms here ! LoL. I wanted to put my hand ON MY HEART right there and say the pledge of allegiance I was so happy. What do I need to do to get my ccp chief I said, “Fill this out and give me $10. LoL. I lived there the next 25yrs. LoL. But I definitely understand that feeling you got my friend in that establishment !

I live in Tennessee and have my CCL, I found out recently that even having my CCL the intent to carry in Tennessee is illegal… gotta love it!!
My quick search of that boils down to,
If you’re a felon and intend to carry a loaded firearm, it’s illegal! No surprise there, that’s a federal law
If your intent upon leaving your home is to commit a violent crime,…. Then this is an add on
There may be other laws that conflate this law, so definitely get ahold of an attorney.
But my logical conclusion is that if you’ve jumped through the loops, and have been issued your concealed handgun permit, the state understands that your intent upon carrying your firearm is for self defense and not the commission of crimes.
