Favorite Part of Cleaning Your Gun?

There are so many things I’d rather do than clean. But the first time I cleaned my gun by myself, I felt empowered. It was shortly after my divorce and I was cleaning my gun without someone watching over my shoulder. Now I find it almost relaxing to clean my guns.

Putting it back together! Nah, I guess looking down the barrel after it’s shiny. Of course it’s still disassembled. I always do it, I’m a dork.

The smell. A freshly cleaned and oiled gun has a certain smell that puts a smile on my face.

I enjoy seeing the insides of a gun, how it works. Then oiling it up, and getting it ready to go.

That’s a good one - the only time you know there’s not a round in the chamber and you cannot accidentally pull the trigger.
