As an individual or as someone on church security what would you do in this situation?

Our doors are locked and staffed with members of the security team shortly after service begin so a stranger with a backpack would likely not make it into the main sanctuary at our church.

If he did happen to make it that far, once the disruption began he’d receive a polite but firm escort out.

Very close to what @JamesR said. He’d probably have a security member behind him in plain clothes. And the disruption would end when the pastor signaled. He’d be escorted off property and trespassed by local pd

@JamesR, @Sheepdog556 - our Safety Team has a similar protocol. We have sherrif’s deputies on the grounds during services and assisting with traffic flow to the public streets.

Probably nothing, my church refused to take any precautions. Due to orders from the Bishop. It’s why I don’t go anymore.

Did the bishop give a rationale for that?

Nope, other than he said so. It was right after I joined and Kevin did the church shooting into the Fray and that weekend there was a big church shooting. So I went to see my priest, and he said the Bishop would have to authorize it.

Sounds like the bishop has his head in the sand. :unamused:
