Everyone one is recommending This Gun Cleaning Kit…

In addition to the standards of Hoppes, BreakFree CLP, Wilson Combat oils and lubes and Ballistol ( for outdoor use only ).
My go to kit is the MPRO7 cleaning system.

I had to resort to buying in bulk due to on range time.
3X a week for 20 years. Cleaning after every range day.
I think my barrels sparkle more than some freshly detailed cars!

This is the best product I’ve found for cleaning:

Don’t get any on fiberoptic sights!

Lubricate what needs lubricating with this:

I run a nylon brush in and out of pistol barrels and a bore snake thru rifle barrels.

That is some serious dedication 3 times a week for 20 years is no joke. No wonder your barrels are that clean. MPRO7 seems to be working really well for you. I usually clean regularly too, but not at that level. Respect for the consistency!

It looks like a lot of people are facing issues with online orders, especially from Facebook. That is why it is always better to shop from trusted sources.

Also, since we are talking about range practice, proper cleaning is just as important as shooting itself. I would personally recommend using a high-quality cleaning kit like Real Avid Master Cleaning Kit, it is very reliable, well-organized, and comes with everything you need for thorough firearm maintenance. It makes cleaning easier, more efficient, and helps keep your equipment in top condition for long-term use

I stick with the basics: a rod, a patch loop, and a silicone bronze brush.
I find that really good patches with some “tooth” do make a difference as well as fine oil (take your pick) and solvent
Add to that a well laundered cloth diaper (no lint) and an old toothbrush.
Rimfires will get a patch worm and revolvers a Bore snake.
And something to put all your stuff in. A cigar box is nice if it fits. If you keep your solvents with your cleaning kit look for a small GI ammo can. The rubber seals will keep the solvent from stinking up the place.
as you add calibers and maybe long guns, the variety of gear can get a wee bit over the top but you’ll work it all out.
It ain’t rocket science
Remember some stuff like bore brushes do wear out and needs replacing every so often

Cleaning a gun does not need to be complicated, as long as you have the essential tools. Keeping your kit organized and having the right supplies can make the job easier. And it is important to replace parts like brushes when they wear out.

Seems crazy expensive for a lot of stuff that will probably never be used. Get what you need and some of what you want and I think you’ll be ahead of the curve.

Overkill. Stuff you’ll never need. Get a jug of patch out and some nickel plated jags from Midway USA. Tipton gun vise and a couple one piece Tipton it Dewey rods. Some nylon brushes and jb bore brite. You can clean anything with these few items.

.38 Spl. brushes, mops, patches and patch loops also work on .357, 9mm and .380 barrels so you can get a lot of bang for your buck when you add new ponies to your stable. Same between .45 ACP, .45 Colt, .44 Magnum and .44 Spl.
Jags may or may not interchange because of varied tolerances.

A ready made kit can be a convenience especially for a new shooter so that’s a good thing, but a kit that’ll handle calibers you don’t shoot, or having no space for cleaning stuff you’ll eventually add over time can be a waste of $$.

No, i actually need it, which is why I am thinking of buying it after taking some reviews. I will follow your advice and only get the things that are more necessary, along with a few others that seem right for me.

Har! $203? Sure, sure. I’ll get two, they’re small.

I picked up the little Hoppes kits for pistol and long gun for $10 ea and they work well. And I got a 9mm boresnake and 5.56 boresnake for about eight bucks apiece.

Later, I found an aluminum cased 100+ pc set used for $10 or $12 and grabbed it, in case I suddenly decided to go out and buy one of each caliber gun some day. Like this: 123PC Universal Cleaning Kit For Gun Rifle Pistol Shotgun Cleaner Maintenance | eBay

Buy what you need as you need it. Then it doesn’t get lost or broken before you can even use it.

Got it :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: that $200+ kit really does feel like overkill when basic things can do the job just fine. You are right, get what you actually need otherwise half the stuff never gets used. I am also thinking of starting with a basic kit first and then gradually upgrading if needed.

Many items on Amazon are from China. So, why not check out Temu. It all comes from the same place. Some items are already in the USA and some you’ll have to wait to ship. I purchased a dry fire target set for cheap. https://www.temu.com/search_result.html?search_key=master%20gun%20cleaning%20kit&search_method=user

Temu does have some cheap deals, and yes, many products may come from the same manufacturing places. But for me, Amazon is still better because shipping is faster, returns are easier, and the review system is more reliable. If I need something important or want better peace of mind, I would still choose Amazon. Temu is fine for low-cost deals, but for overall trust and convenience Amazon is better.

Amazon is our love :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: The best thing about it is that most deliveries arrive within 1–2 days. With many Shopify stores, you often have to wait 7–14 days or even longer, but Amazon is on another level when it comes to speed and convenience. That is why whenever something is urgent or you just want peace of mind, Amazon becomes the first choice.

I am becoming a fan of Amazon’s AI interface. It is saving me time and money and pointing me to things I might never have found on my own (and keeps me from making bad buys and having to process returns). Suggest you find something you find interesting and ask AI if there are other things you might need if you buy this, or something you might regret if you do.
