Hey brother since we moved off the Gold Standard the dollar really has no meaning, however you need to take into consideration that the dollar is measured in labor. Currency has always been measured in a finite resource, shells, beads, rare metals all have all played their part in currency. However just because there is no physical resource to measure a value does not mean there is no value. This is the Libertarian Paradox in my opinion, on one hand they will cry because the US moved away from the Gold Standard that our currency is worthless, while claiming people should invest in Crypto which is the ultimate in synthetic value.

Agree, I would guess this is an area where manufacturing in the US could be somewhat competitive becasue (i hope) it is highly automated and not held back by high US labor rates. An important market we need to secure if we expect to have a future conflict with China over Taiwan. The CHIPs Act also needs to be greatly accelerated to bring semiconductor prodcution onshore. Unfortunately, we are much more reliant on China, than China is on us. It will take many years to balance that out, if it is even possible.
It’s been six months since this “Interesting” post graced these pages. I’m a retired Vet and im Yet to see any cuts, not one personally. I have heard of a few folks cut from the regional offices for the VA specifically “Trainers” who were not training anyone. Beyond that, Nothing. Our county office is finally manning our VSO position.
On a personal note, I have a surgery scheduled in November. Surgical team is a combination of VA staff and folks from a large medical university. I also went from 40% to 90% disabled. The process was easy and after working with the VA years, things seems to suddenly get easier.
If this is what the so called CUTS are bringing, I say, bring on more “Cuts”!

So glad to hear that. The old way knew how to ask for more money and get it. The new way tries to have an accurate mission and achieve it to delight customers.
(I worked for years in a DOGE-like industry and know that those efforts work. It was a big bang approach but they’ll get to a much improved steady state with governance. WOOT!)
