DOGE Random Cuts to VA, FCC, CDC, etc

Yep. And this weekend, the Congress, ever the careful managers of public money, enacted a budget resolution that approves about $1.6 TRILLION in federal spending. It’s just “temporary” of course, because Congress promises to review and revisit the budget in a year or so. And, that’s a “promise” in the same sense that Trump makes promises. You can count on Congress and the Orange man’s minions to manage public money (much of which is simply printed, kinda the ultimate in crypto currency) and bring down inflation and the public debt of nearly $36 TRILLION. Making America Great one recession at a time.

And I suppose the only way to make a difference is to get off our lazy asses and run for office right?

Because every American can afford to do it and be a true patriot!

It was a C.R… “C” meaning a continuation of the 2024 spending

I am retired military and would love to see the VA systems streamlined. Why does our clinic have four people standing by to assist with scheduling appointments? Each supports different sub clinics. Most are simply waiting with nothing to do. Consolidate and save money there. Why does it take years for many claims to be processed? Why do veterans have to “Learn the System” before they are helped? My guess, the system has been developed to support the system and not the veteran.

That’s it, Tracy. Many government systems have been set up to employ people. There’s a lot that actually needs to be done. Pay them for THAT actual work.

Remember when the Biden Administration fixed the Unemployment numbers by hiring thousands into the Gubment Work Force.

22 Years on active duty and just short of 20 years as an accredited Veterans service Officer here.

I use the VA as my primary health care system. One of my most respected Service Organization proponents described the VA very precisely. Jim said, “every VA facility larger than a phone booth operates as an entity all unto itself”. I spent hours on the phone with a VA Hospital in Colorado trying to get the remains of a deceased veteran returned to his family in Illinois. The VA employee who finally got the job done really defined the problem with VA procedures. “If you have seen one VA, you have seen one VA”.

What we all know. If they keep asking for more money, we keep giving it to them. Glad that’s over.

Even if the $580M were true, that is 0.01% if the 4.5 Trillion tax cut Trump is pushing. The Doge program isn’t even a drop in the bucket. It’s an ideological purge, nothing more.

You’re right. We shouldn’t save anything. That would be wasteful. You’re a riot, man.

The only way the democrats implosion could be more fun to watch is if the Three Stooges sound effects were dubbed in realtime.

So, What’s wrong with that?

What’s wrong with it is that it isn’t the democrats trying to do it.

They wanted to force electric vehicles on everyone, before they wanted to burn Tesla to the ground.
They screamed “what about the children” at every turn before they decided they could be mutilated, aborted, killed, etc.
They rallied against potential government shutdowns before they openly called for it.
They cried about going to war before they freely instigated and fueled them.
They moaned about legal injustice before they used the judicial system against their political opponents.
They protested against intolerance and discrimination prior to creating imaginary groups, rights and privileges.

I could go on for days, but I’m either preaching to the choir (our rationally-minded friends) or I am pointing out the hypocrisy to a hypocrite (pick a democrat).
