I’m covered by the law-enforcement officer safety act, but don’t see any information on the website for that type of coverage. This type of permit allows me to carry in all 50 states and territories. Does my USCCA insurance still cover me?
Welcome to the community. Only if you are involved in a self-defense lethal situation.![]()
Welcome to the family brother @CLIFFORD21 and we are glad you are with us. I also have the LEOSA and I am a USCCA member. USCCA is my insurance coverage God forbid I get involved in a self defense incident. LEOSA allows you to carry in all 50 states with some ammo restrictions and capacity regulations. As long as the incident takes place in a state where USCCA can operate you will be covered.
What states can USCCA not operate in specifically?
New York, New Jersey and Washington State
They cannot offer memberships in those 3 states I mentioned
Agree. I am a LEOSA federal identification license holder (Retired Military Law Enforcement) and as long as you are a member of USCCA at any level, USCCA is your insurance and legal representation. The degree they will support you can be found on thier website and videos on line.
There was a incident when a person from Georgia was carrying her Georgia permit. Flew to New York City (NYC), no problems. On her way from NYC back to Georgia, she checked her firearm with the ticket agent following all laws and procedures, and to her surprise, the ticket agent said, “wait here a moment.” Upon the ticket agent’s return she was arrested, jailed, plea bargained her felony down to a misdemeanor offense. Her case sparked a national debate regarding differences in state laws and national reciprocity debate . (on - going).
As far as LEOSA goes, I believe NYC would treat us the same way with our LEOSA identification card and firearm, although we can legally cross into New York.
@CLIFFORD21 Welcome to the community and you are covered by the USCCA insurance just too bad about the rogue states Johnnyq60 mentions and example incidents that have occurred mentioned by Michael2378 of how Un-American laws are used in these states to mistreat law-abiding American gun owners.
Yes, that is illegal in NYS. She was rightly charged and was very lucky not to have gotten a felony conviction. NOTE: Always be aware of the local/state laws when carrying anything - not just firearms, but any self-defense tools, knives, pepper spray, etc.
