I think this is a very good and important question-- I don’t know how to answer, except to say-- If one is going to carry, one MUST have a very good self defense insurance behind them.
I think if your life is on the line, no other thoughts are going to interfere with defending it. Pretty sure that’s where Kyle’s mind was at.
Agree on the insurance because the whole thought process to me of dealing with a REAL defense situation is overwhelming to me, so once the instinct passed, it’s nice to have a number to call.
I believe if he was found guilty, it would have led to a much greater push to suppress our RKBA and outlaw self-defense (as other countries have done). It might still change people’s minds about wanting to take steps to defend self and family, as no one would ever want to go through what Mr. Rittenhouse did with that prosecutor. However, I was already fully-aware that one may face prosecution for a rightful self-defense incident, and I am still willing to defend myself and famly as best I can. I assume all of us here, as I do, hope and pray we will never face that, and that we are taking steps to prepare for the worst while hoping for the best.
IMHO I don’t think the verdict will deter criminals from thinking twice. They will just prepare themselves more when they are about to commit the act.
You are correct, nothing short of an armed victim will stop them. Yet, the Left doesn’t seem to care about the criminal element… they want to not only disarm honest citizens, they want to make self defense–in any situation–illegal. I have to be honest at this point… I’m not sure I would defend anybody but my family and a few very close friends at this point.
Well if they think Louis Vuitton is going to keep them safe, I’m staking out my local body armor vendor! Then again…
It just doesn’t get any better than this, style baby, style. Retired after 32 years in the art world. “I’ll know it when I see it” and now I’ve seen it all!
There is no world that can make me refuse to defend my family and myself. Majority opinion included.
