Discussing global warming

I found this to be interesting. During the COVID lockdowns. There was a measurable increase in Methane in the atmosphere. The prevailing theory was that it proved humans driving, or in this case pollution abated while the World was locked down humans decreased pollution since not as much pollution was being done since cars weren’t being driven.

Turns out, yeah not so much. The measurable increase in Methane was a result of completely natural processes due to increases due to increased rain from “El Nino”. :scream_cat:

There was about a 5% dip in Co2 during COVID.

But the actual amount of CO2 that actually represents is well within the margin of error. It’s close to 1 part CO2 out of 10 millionths of a particle. They throw around percentages because it is easier to understand the 5% increase and that looks and sounds scary. But if you talk about .05 of 1 particle out 10 million particles that’s laughable on a planetary scale.

Not a shot @CombatCanine. Just an explanation.

Edit: fixed a #.

Interesting, yeah, I heard how some wildlife population grew as well during Covid. As a side note, during the height of Covid, I read a report on about three states who tested their Deer for Covid and 40% of all the Deer tested were positive, 60% were negative.

We put scrubbers on coal fires powered plants that literally reduces Mercury emission by 50%, Yep 50% reduction, That equated to about 1/32 of a Mercury molecule per billion molecule’s of released air.
